G-Form Knee Pads are the first exterior flexible, molded, rate-dependent impact pad worn on the outside of the garment. The ridges and hinges of the pad are specifically designed to flex with the knee and leg to ensure complete protection.

Good concept, poor execution.
This is a review for the G-Form knee pads. When I got these in the mail I was really excited about how they would perform. I put them on and found that I got the right size according to the sizing chart. It was a tight fit, but that's good since tighter means less chance of slipping and more streamlining with clothing. These slipped under jeans no problem.Next up was a quick trail ride. I took a few light spills just to see how they held up against impacts, and the first problem appeared. While the pads protected against impact and scratches, the stitching and spandex creating the pad was of low quality. The spandex is easily ripped through, and the stitching starts to fall out after a while. The pads did their job: my knees were unscathed. But the construction of the pad leaves me wondering whether if they're actually worth what I paid for them. $50 is a lot for minimalistic pads. The fact that you can throw these in the wash is cool. I've switched to something else since I've started DH, but while these did their jobs, I don't think they'll last through many crashes. Think before you buy.

Feel great, but they run smaller than expected.
I just received these in the mail today and couldn't wait to put them on. I bought them not for typical outdoor sports, but because this summer I'll be travelling with a tour group across country and one of our stops is a gigantic indoor obstacle course. I was looking to bring some knee protection that would pack down really small and these looked perfect. After reading some of the reviews about needing to return their first order for a larger size I got out a measuring tape and measured the circumference of both my knees as well as my calves which I would have to pull the pads over. My knees were 15 inches around and calves were 16. I decided to go with the XL size even though really I was more of a large according to my measurements and I'm glad I did.The XL pads put up much more resistance than I expected when pulling them up over my calf and the feeling of wearing them is tight. I do lift weights at the gym and bike regularly, but I really hesitate to say that the effects of both these activities are visible to the... umm... naked eye. Wearing these right now I suggest that any person who does consistent lower body training measure themselves and go with the next size up than the one the chart suggests. The downside to the XL pads is that when my knees are bent the padding itself is looser than I would have preferred around my knee, but it is something I'll have to live with if I want to get these things on me at all.As to the effectiveness of the cushioning, I did some knee drops onto my hardwood floor and felt no sharp pains in my knee caps and only got a light ache from the initial impact. I was not expecting to feel nothing considering how thin these pads are, but I am surprised as to how little pain there was. For my purposes of protecting my knees from causal falls and bumps against steel bars these seem to work nicely.I am withholding one star partly because of sizing issue above and the fact that some reviewers are complaining about durability. I will try to update this review after my trip in August and weigh in on how well they held up.

Nice Design - But...
Review revisted - I received the replacement pair of knee pads, after a couple of weeks of use, the thread has once again started to unravel after 8 trips on trails - no falls or snags on brush, just failure of the thread and stitching. The same thing has happened now with both the elbow and shin pads from the company. I have dropped a note to the company to see what they have to say or suggest. The pads are a good product, but quality and durability of the thread in the elastic area is dismal. Will send them back to Amazon and return to the old hard shell pads I have used for a couple of years. It is shame as they work well, but fall apart too easy. After wearing the hard shell knee/shin guards for trail riding, decided to give these a try. Visited G-Form website, measured my knee and on their chart determined I needed a L. Ordered and when it arrived I tried them on and they were extremely tight and uncomfortable. Sent them back and ordered a XL. They fit just fine and I tried them out on a trail ride. No complaints about fit or comfort, but when I finished and took them off found both had thread failures around the top of the stretch material, something I don't think should be the case. Sending them back but also ordering a replacement pair in case I got a bad stitch job on this pair. Thus the rating of 3 stars, will revisit the review upon receipt and use of the new pair.

wear them every ride
I'm a little skeptical that they'll actually provide protection in a crash... Maybe I'm just used to my storm-trooper style 661 hard-shell pads. We'll see!Sizing is also super goofy. I'm 5'8", 140 lbs and wear smalls and extra smalls in all my clothing, size 4 or 6 in pants (I know, guys, this means nothing to you). I had to order XL in both the knee and shin and as far as the knees go, they're definitely snug. XL was the right size for me. Smalls and mediums may as well be labeled kid sizes. Will update this review after my first couple rides. One note, seller is great to work with.Update: Still a -little- skeptical as I haven't crashed yet, but I'm pretty impressed overall. You can't even feel these things while you're riding. It's wonderful. I'm still not over the fact that the sizing is ridiculous but, whatever. Seeing as I wear these on every ride, I obviously have some degree of subconscious confidence that they'll take care of me when the time comes. Super comfortable and so far plenty durable. I'd buy another set for sure.UPDATE 8/16/13Finally had a crash where these things had to prove themselves. They work. They definitely work.Went over the bars and slid over/into a bunch of rocks. Skinned up my arms and would have had some serious knee/shin gouges if not for these pads. I didn't even feel the impact on my knees. I was very impressed. They stayed in place during the crash, too, despite my sliding. Guess my skepticism was wasted!

Qualità
Merce davvero di ottima qualità.Consiglio vivamente l'articolo.
