I also have a Lodge trivet and this is every bit the sturdiness and quality. I’ve seen this bounce around from around eight dollars to as much as $20. I got it when it was eight dollars and feel that it’s a very good value. $20, not so much. Nonetheless, if you put it in your cart and wait you will see it go up and down in price. Pick it up when it hits a number that suits you and you won’t be disappointed.

The trivet fits 8" pipe near perfectly. A few swipes with a grinder will clean it up. I used an 8" bell reducer fitting from a nat gas company scrap dumpter. It also fits my charcoal chimney. Throw some charcoal in a chimney starter, place the trivit on top, light it and grill your favorite flesh.

When I purchased my dutch oven for camping I was completely unaware that there were different ones for camping and for the kitchen. I just assumed that they were all the same and I was definitely wrong. I didn't want to send my dutch oven back because our camping trip was so close but I needed a way to proper cook my desserts. In comes the cast iron trivet to save the day. I was able to put my coals on the ground and the trivet on top of the coals then placed my dutch oven on top of the trivet so that I could have a nice even cooking surface.I know that most people are looking to use their trivets to hold the hot pans and pots after the food is done and it works great for that as well. I used it in that manner for my meals. But if you made the mistake I did with your dutch oven I would definitely recommend buying this so that you don't have to buy a different dutch oven. Wonderful product, well made, and very sturdy.
