Works incredibly well. Much better and longer lasting than that Z brand
I bought 2 of these and will buy again. The catalysis(burner) is still going strong after a years use, 5 nights a week minimum. I had originally bought the stand by Zip..(P.O.S) brand but they lasted about 3 weeks at best even after burner replacement. They had changed the burner material to something inferior. I will replace the burners on my Peacock ones just because I feel I should. I was actually amazed with how well and how long these things produce heat for. Out of the bag these will get hot enough where it's uncomfortable to hold. In the bag they will still produce heat after a 13-16 hour shift. Sometimes still warm when going in for next days shift. I have a large one I stick in the chest bib pocket to help heat my body. Every few hours I will take out of bag to get the burner chugging along again(more heat). and to warm my sometimes near frozen fingers. If you keep them out of the bag and not in pocket they will not last the advertised hours. You will about half the time. To be honest they get a little too hot for me. They are the best hand warmer I have ever used and I've been using these type since the 70's. Way better than the USB or the one use ones at heating a pocket or holding in hand. Much cheaper in the long run also. I use regular Ronsonal (Yellow bottle) lighter fluid. The special hand warmer fuel is the same thing with a bit less odor and much more expensive. I'm thinking on getting a 'Baby" size as the Standard is a month out

Great outdoor tool with 99 year old technology
Purchased and used Ronsonol which has a pretty straightforward fine nozzle dispenser that requires a small coin to open. Ronsonol specs state a boiling temp of 93F, so 3-5 seconds of warmth near the catalyst is all that is needed to start the unit. Lay the edge of the cap in the groove of the catalyst for few seconds and remove to observe water vapor. If you don’t see water vapor on the cap, repeat with a lighter for 3-5 seconds. So not inhale fumes from lighter fluid directly. It is bad and can be toxic in large or prolonged levels of exposure. If you do smell fumes, it is unoxidized portions of Ronsonol since the reaction primarily creates only water, carbon dioxide, and heat. The pocket warmer should be 2-3 feet away your mouth and nose. If you smell anything, you are too close to it.When running in proper operation and location away from your mouth and nose, you will not smell anything. The bag serves two functions at the same time. It controls the air flow to regulate how hot the device gets, and prevents direct contact with the metal which will get too hot to contact directly once in operation (140F). A third purpose for the bag is to keep the unit at operating temperature to sustain the reaction. If direct wind or cold reduces the lighter fluid below 94F near the catalyst, it will not vaporize and will probably stop functioning and need started again. Do not apply flame direct to the catalyst. It will degrade the life of the catalyst. This is a great device for outdoors invented in 1923. There are only a few fuels this item is suitable for: Ronsonol, Zippo Lighter Fuel, and White Gas or Camp fuel with boiling range starting at 94F with some toxic aromatic petroleum products removed if possible.

Belive the reviews vs Zippo
I should have believed the reviews. I'd give 4.5 for bag and 5 stars for the devices improvements compared to the Zippo hand warmer:Fill:Zippo - Carefully get lighter fluid nozzle into small hole of measure / filler - probably spill a little. Fill to desired amount. Remove lighter fluid nozzle, maybe spill a little. Put fill neck into hand warmer center hole, fill no more than a third of the measure at a time, or get backfill / spill on the side of the hand warmer. Then let sit upright (how, the bottom is rounded? - I improvise a "vise" with whatever I have around, using a book or keyboard or whatever to hold against a wall / desktop PC, i.e. hold it up) for 2 minutes so the fluid evaporates from the very top and sides of the hand warmer. You HAVE to do this or you can have the whole heading element just ignite and burn for minutes - i.e. it just won't work right if you don't let the fluid clear off like this. I had it happen several times, and it wasn't great when I tried to rush. NO MORE, I ALWAYS wait. Then put burner on.Peacock - push on / in the filling system thingy (funnel?), fill to line with lighter fluid. Turn top part 90 degrees and in seconds the fill is complete. Put burner on. Notice no slow filling, no waiting...Lighting:Zippo- Use lighter for at least 60 seconds, moving the element across flame and all 4 sides (i.e. flip over, move vertical and flip), look for several embers / glow to "ensure" (I had about 85% success with this method) it's lit. Put top on and set on non-flammable surface for a few minutes so it can breath and make sure it's working. If not, start over.Peacock - Use lighter for about 10 seconds (might have needed less), look for glow / ember. Ready for use.Top / burner protector:Zippo - Slight friction hold. Works sometimes. Top has a tendency to slide if not in bag, and if moving around to warm different sides of your hands. Have to watch for coming off.Peacock - "clicks" in place. You have to intend to remove it - it won't slide off easily. Slightly a negative for filling / starting, but much safer - the burner won't accidentally be exposed.Bag:Zippo - Drawstring closure. Enough "effort" to close that i usually leave open, so can slide off of warmer. However, usually can stay on without actually being closed.Peacock - Velcro - "forces closed" - have to make effort, and the noise is noticeable to open. I don't love the sewn on tag on the outside advertising the brand. It's a little uncomfortable to have that tag, like an annoying shirt tag when in my hands. I might swap for the zippo bags I have. Sewing on the Velcro was a bit sloppy and coming out on mine. By far the weakest point, but also not super important to me.

Reliable and hot!
I first bought the Zippo equivalent and initially was very happy with it, but then it would light and go out after an hour, or not light, or react as if it was overfull with fuel. I bought several new (authentic) catalytic burners but just gave up spending money to try to make them work! On YouTube I saw that the other popular brand was Peacock. I’ve found mine to light every time (with a Zippo lighter, I also use the Zippo fuel, as recommended) after 3 seconds and produce a lot more heat than the Zippo warmer. In short it’s totally reliable and hot!

Peacock hand warmers
They are exactly as advertised.10ml of fluid was enough to keep my hands warm for about 8hours.

Works as described
Works well. I used it inside oversized gloves and it kept them warm all day.

Perfect for a round of winter golf
Nice design , keeps hands lovely and warm.I fill it half full and it lasts about 5 hours , completely full , probably would last 8-9 hours. I bought the medium size so larger size will last even longer. For my purposes , easily long enough for a round of golf.
