I have a few pieces from this collection (mugs mostly) and I love them for their simplicity and cute phrases. I ordered this cake plate and I love the size. It holds a 9" cake nearly edge to edge. Some might like some more space for easier cutting and serving but I liked the cake filled the entire space and I used it to serve a much smaller cake so you could see the word. However, my best advice would be to buy it in person. Mine unfortunately is not level on the bottom so it wobbles on a few tables and counters I tried. :( I used it twice for presentation and then had someone hold the base while I cut it. Going forward, I will just use it for cupcakes or something lighter. Bit disappointed about that
