Scholastic Success with Reading Comprehension, Grade 5

Can't go wrong with this book! Best reading comprehension workbook out all the ones we’ve bought! In fact, our tutor loved it so much, she got one for use with her other tutoring students and in her public school classroom as well. The 5th grade book has 22 stories with questions. Each 2 page segment took my child at the longest 20 minutes to read & complete so it’s perfect for short targeted daily or once a week reinforcement. It has an easy to use answer key in the back to check answers so you know immediately how well your child is comprehending what they are reading. We love this entire series of workbooks. They are very easy to understand and provide more targeted skill practice than textbooks alone. We currently use this book daily in our homeschool curriculum but we’ve also used the same book series the last 2 years (grade 3 and 4) for home reinforcement and tutoring purposes when our child was in public schooling. LOVE IT!

Always a good series, I am using this to get my grandson caught up in his classes --- school is challenging enough, but to be a high-spirited youngster beginning formal education online has resulted in his fluency, writing and attention span needing some help. Just enough guidance and gives him a chance to be creative and write his own stories as well as listen to stories and be able to show his level of comprehension. YAY!

My son loves to read, but struggles with comprehension on the stories that don’t interest him in school. So we got this for summer review work. I got him a grade older than he’s going into and he’s doing fine with it so far. It wasn’t difficult and the stories only take a few minutes to read and answer questions over. Great way to prepare him for next school year!

For the price it's okay. It has neat stories and lessons in it and it's very easy for me to teach.

Bought this for my daughter and its pretty good. She was in grade 4 and I wanted her to get a jump on what's coming up in grade 5. The level of difficulty is OK, starts off easy and increases as she moves along.

This was my son's last year summer's workbook. He did 10 mins a day. It has helped him with his reading &comprehension skills, prior to entering 6 th grade. I will be buying the next book for this summer! Awesome books, for your child to do! I had him turn into his English teacher this yr, going back ,this book & another, reading & writing. She was impressed! These books are reasonably priced, & priceless, in helping to keep his mind sharp & work on a subject, that he struggles with!

This was perfect for homeschool.

It’s a great little book, but it is little. Each assignment is 2 pages long, so at this rate we will blow through this book quickly. I like that it has the answer key in the back for easy grading. I just wish the book was longer or had multiple volumes.
