Viridian TacLoc Holster Beretta PX4 Sub with C Series ECR

I purchased this holster with a Viridian C5L-R laser/light combo in 2016 and while looking for an additional holster I ran across multiple inaccurate reviews. So, to try and help others making a holster & laser/light choice I want to provide my experience with this holster over the last 3 1/2 years.-Purchased in 2016 as a holster and laser/light combo from Amazon-Installed on my Springfield XDM 40 Compact-Mounted the holster and 2x mag holder in a vehicle in a location that is secure but easy to access-Laser/light was easy to install and fits perfectly conformal to the weapon. Rail attachment holds the light firmly with no movement in any direction. The bar that is pulled against the rail when tightened does deform slightly but creates a firm mount.-Holster is very light. Locking mechanism only requires a light depression to release the weapon. Requires a few ounces of pressure so gripping the weapon with your hand a single finger resting on the release and the weapon can be drawn. Returning the weapon to the holster results in an audible click that you can also feel in the weapon grip. Retention is not tight, works well in a static location but may need addition friction on a gun belt to prevent a rattle.-Holster required no modifications for the Springfield XDM. I was surprised at how well the weapon and laser/light fit the first time.-Holster has now been mounted in a vehicle for 3 years and not one faster has become loose nor have I heard any rattles. -I use the vehicle to hunt with in the mountains plus multiple offload trips a year. Also drive the vehicle daily as well as pull our camper. So, the holster mounted has traveled about 40-50k miles and I have had zero issues. The weapon has never hung up during removal. Holstering requires the weapon to be lined up within 10 degrees or so to insert but the holster material is hard enough that you can insert the first portion of the weapon and it seems to find its alignment with little help.-I test the light and last once a month, weapon is fired monthly as well. I swap out the battery once a year which seems to keep the light and laser at full power. I live where the winter temps fall below 0 and summer above 100.-Because I have never had an issue with the combo I have never had to work with the customer service to correct a problem. I did contact Viridian asking about a new holster for a different weapon and they answered my request within 24 hours with detailed information and additional items for consideration.-If you're looking for a holster with a locking mechanism that is durable, small and mounts to multiple platforms I would recommend looking at the Viridian. I have been extremely happy with the design, fit, finish, material and ease of use.

I purchased this holster for my Springfield XD 9 9mm gun. When I got it the holster did not work correctly. I would put the gun in the holster with the laser light turned on and it would turn the laser off just like it is supposed to do but when I took the gun out of the holster the laser would not come back on. I finally found out that the laser works with a very small magnet inside at the bottom of the holster which turns off the laser when the gun in put in the holster but when it comes out of the holster away from the magnet it should turn back on but it did not work. I took the little magnet housing out of the holster and found out the magnet was very week so I used another magnet that I had and rubbed it across the little magnet until it made it a little stronger. CAUTION: please be very careful here because if you rub the wrong end of the magnet with the wrong pole you could make the little magnet weaker. The best way is to lay the gun magnet down on a smooth table and as you get close to the magnet it should attract to your other magnet, but if it pushes away then you need to turn the magnet around until they cling together then rub it together about 50 times and this should make the holster magnet a little stronger also make sure that the two screws are tight enough but not to tight so you do not strip the screws. Now my holster works fine, I can put the gun in the holster with the laser turned on and it will turn off and when I take the gun out of the holster it turns the laser back on. CAUTION: before doing all of this make sure that the screws are not loose on the holster if they are snug them up a little. Also on my laser there is a very small connect pin that sticks up on my battery screw and you could also make sure this is making good contact by taking a small knife or fine sand paper and sand the screw part around where the little pin makes contact but be very careful with this screw cap because it will strip out very easy. I hope this will help someone who has the same problem I did. I am a Electronic Engineer and this is how I know magnets and contact with small parts.

Holster works great, belt clip is a bit large so it allows for movement. I'll probably swap out that part with one from another holster or to a drop leg and it will be great.
