Fit my old Husky 326Rx using the suppled adapter.
Just ordered & installed the Speed Feed trimmer head on an ancient Husqvarna 326Rx brush cutter. This is a 20-year-old H/D machine, the kind with bicycle handlebars and a shoulder strap. Once installed, it wound new line just as described on You Tube videos., that's the best part. Took a full 14 feet of .090 heavy trim line. I need everything H/D here on my ranch. This is used for culvert clearing and heavy weed control. Pros: head came with a full set of adapters (thankfully) and once assembled for my machine, it ran well and bump feeds easily. Cons: No instructions of any kind, just a head and a bag of adapters and some cheap .080-line wound in the head. It's not physics to understand what needed to be done, but a simple sheet would have been nice. I probably could find it on-line, but I could see the solution and just went ahead. The installed center threaded arbor was too small for my mount. I pulled the head apart and replaced the installed arbor with the larger (supplied) one and then installed and wound line the way the You Tube video shows. No issues. Watch the video a couple times and you will have no problems, and I thank Chickanic for the recommendation. My old head was a hassle to wind new line. And I had 20 years' experience doing it! Recommended.

Great trimmer head but with minimal instructions
I will start off this review with details that apply to everyone and should have been better explained in the poorly written instruction sheet: Despite the application chart indicates fitness, this head will not work on all or some Stihl curved shaft trimmers. The product description on Amazon correctly states that it will not fit these trimmers. It does not come with an 8mm RH bushing. Here is a better explanation of the parts and how they fit... In essence, the spinning direction determines the thread of the bushing, the core color, and orientation of the spool. Select the wrong core and the trimmer cable will not dispense. Left Hand (LH) bushings must be inserted into the black core while Right Hand (RH) bushings should be used with the white core. The choice of core also determines which side of the spool faces up. Specifically, the white core with RH bushing is assembled with the spool showing the letter "R". The black core with a LH bushing should be joined with the spool oriented so that the letter "L" is visable. When correctly assembled, the core will extend beyond the spool as shown in the photographs accompanying this review. . The spool sides are mentioned in the instruction sheet but I believe this needs to be clarified with photographs. So, how does it work? The trimmer line goes in easily and loading is simple. It may be reloaded in a minute. When you need more line, just tap the head against the ground to extend the stored trim cable. It works well and and can save considerable time. In summary, I highly recommend the Shindaiwa/Echo Speed-Feed® 400 Trimmer Head with one reservation: Do not trust the application instruction sheet chart. Check the list of included bushings and studs to make sure it will fit your trimmer's mounting method. And here is a bonus tip.... Search for the web for "SpeedFeed® bullet proof" mod using a 3/8" bolt, a fender washer and nylon insert locknut. It will extend the trimmer head life.

This works very well
Saw others using this product and decided to give it a try. Fairly simple to put ob and was surprised that it works so well. As long as they don’t change the design I would recommend it.

This are failed quality control units being flipped.
They must have changed something because all the recent reviews are bad. I should have checked before I got it. 1. No instructions 2. No real indication from the photos, listing, or packaging what should actually be included or needed. I got 5+ pieces not even shown in the photos where reviews are saying the opposite. 3. No package? Like it's just pieces in a plastic baggy and not labeled. 4. Probably the most important. I can't even install it. The female threaded hole won't accept any of the adapters that came with it? Like the threads are there but don't work no matter what I put in or what direction I twist? Surely the result of a bunch of cost cutting, and every good review must be from before when this product wasn't just an overpriced paperweight. Edit: Bought a real one at a hardware store and best I can tell, these are damaged items bought by the seller for a discount that they are trying to flip. A real one comes with real packaging, instructions, no missing pieces, and threading that actually screws onto what it supposed to. This is literally a scam.

Instructions not included
Came in a plain bag with several adapters and no instructions. It didn't fit my Kobalt trimmer out of the package and I couldn't figure out how the adapters work. I was about to return it but the Chickanic YouTube channel other reviewers mentioned was a game changer. She had a video on how to swap out the adapters. After that I had it working in no time. Trimming is no longer a pain in the a** and reloading is a breeze. Saves so much time and effort now. Durability is yet to be determined. If it had instructions it would have had 5 stars.

Great attachment that works great...
To be honest I have not found it that difficult to re-string a trimmer head. Once you do it a couple times, it's a breeze. It's not as frustrating as products like this lead you to believe. But I get they want to sell their products. I amp up the products I sell my self. Although this item does make it a little easier and more importantly it has a big bump feed, the entire head actually. My original trimmer head has a small bump button. Bought this to put on my Makita XUX01ZM5 trimmer and it fits perfectly. I only needed to use the plastic spacer on the shaft, then screwed on this head. It screwed right on and with a allan key in the lock spot, it tightened right up. This works just as a trimmer head should. I have not found it difficult to bump, works perfectly for me. I do not have any complaints about this product, in fact, I really like it. And yes, it will be easier when I reload the head. It does come pre-loaded with their string. It's not the best line, but it's not bad. Just seems to go a little faster than the Oregon braided line I have been using. But it's really a freebie, so I am okay with it. Overall it's great product that works exactly as it should. Would gladly recommend.

Best trimmer head ever
Instructions on how to adapt unit to fit your trimmer not the clearest, but the unit was flawless in loading & operation. A real pleasure to use, & I don't waste time cutting strings & I use a lot less string. Trimming a small .7 acre fenced lot in the city. Recommended by "Chicanic" & she was spot on with her best choice. Great value, design, quality & a pleasure to use. Had 4 different heads & this is a keeper.

Much better than Husqvarna's version
I'm just a guy at home doing normal lawn stuff and occasionally help out clearing MTB trails where durability and reliability matters because it might take all day and then some. I picked up a Husq 525LST and bought the Husq Rapid Reload head and ended up frustrated with the head because it would fail to feed line and after having to disassemble everything to get it going just to jam again, I went with the Shindaiwa/Echo 400 head. It's a night and day difference, the Shindaiwa/Echo 400 head is much smoother and easier to wind up, there's none of the binding I experienced with the Husq version. Pro's: Easy to install on a Husqvarna 525LST (threads are correct out of the package), easy to load line and ratchet, very reliable performance, doesn't bind nearly as much as the Husqvarna version. Con's: Bump cap needs more durability. Perhaps a little more material where the cap strikes the ground would be nice, otherwise you can Youtube a few videos that shows how to drill out the center of the cap and install a bolt and washer and make that the strike point when you bump to give it more wear resistance on the cap.

Fits Honda HHT25S trimmer
I removed the old trimmer head and installed the Shindaiwa head. No adapter was needed. Works flawlessly so far. I have not needed to reload line. I’m expecting it to be easy.
