Leaves an unslightly gash in your work.

Pretty good quality. The problem is that it leaves a 1/4" indentation in your wood. Because it is a combo stapler and nailer, it uses a stapler size plunger which makes shooting brads pointless. If I wanted to shoot staples and leave a 1/4" gouge in the wood, I would use a stapler. If I want to use brads so that the nail hole is not visible, this is not the tool to use because you still have that ugly 1/4" gash.

Not the best for finish trim nailing.

Works as advertised. Easy to handle. It earns 5 stars as a stapler, only 3 stars as a nailer. Why? Because the ram which drives in the nails is wide (necessary to be able to drive staples) and leaves a more visible indent compared to a tool that is just a nailgun. Accordingly I do not recommend this tool for finish work. Otherwise, its a fine tool.

Save yourself time and money!!

I purchased this to save me time assembling 10 beehive boxes and 80 frames...Due to the price and good reviews I was hoping for the best since I had limited time to get this done...amazon as usual shipped it out quick....I was ready to go and had everything assembled in record time! Like literally finished up and went to pick up the bees lol...I needed a nailer and stampler which this worked amazingly for both...Considering what I would have had to pay at the local stores this was a fraction of the price and it was the same brand I had looked at locally...This was my first time using this kind of tool but it was simple and easy to get going...Worth every penny!

Awesome for the money.

Never understood the brad or staple only guns. This works with a variety of sizes. Havent had a jam yet.Light weightAdjustable air exhaust ( nice to reposition the exhaust when working in corners)Easy front opening for clearing out any staple jams.built in quick connect with dust cap over intake (often a simple thing like this can mean dirt, debris, water, bugs getting into the hole and the next time you start using it the thing is messed up.)FYI: Cheap staples or brads with poor or old glue will often times be the culprit for jams.

18 gauge for the first time

I didn't know how this unit would perform but it certainly exceeded my expectations. I used various brad and staple packs for the projects I was working on and experienced no misfires or jams. I already can recommend the unit from my initial use but, like everything else that is new, I cannot yet testify to it's durability. Two little ticks that I noticed....and they aren't anything that I would knock off a star for....but I couldn't seem to load a full rack of staples without breaking them apart first. Maybe I just didn't know the exact way to mount the middle bar without hitting other pieces of the mechanism or I just didn't want to force them on the rail. The other small thing is, again maybe it was the the way I expected it to work instead of a real issue is that the brad/staple receiver closing apparatus didn't fully close unless I pressed down on the release lever. Again maybe I didn't want to use enough force to close it as I am just used to slamming the door shut. Regardless this turned out to be a very handy addition to my tools.

Must be held perpendicular for flush brad heads

I use this brad nailer for fine woodworking. As an efficiency in glue up, I used this nailer to tack 1/8" plywood into place while the glue sets using 3/8" brads. The nailer has a rubber nib on the end that protects against marring. However, for that feature to work correctly, the nose of the nailer is actually slightly above the surface of the wood. With practice, you can get the nailer to put a brad in just right with the top of the nail flush, but if the nailer is not held perfectly perpendicular, the "air space" between the nose and the wood's surface becomes off and the brad will not be flush. You need to use a nail set to tap it in that final tiny bit. Not a big deal, as the non-marring feature is nice, but not quite a work saver, as I've got to go over all the brads after they're placed to check for flushness.

Two for less than the price of one

I have now had this tool for almost two years. Have used it extensively during that time for both brads and staples. Since it costs less than most brad nailers or staplers alone, I am ready to declare it a great bargain. In some other reviews I see complaints about impressions left in wood. That means it is set too deep. Change the setting so that the head of the brad is just at the surface of the wood. It will be nearly invisible after stain and varnish, completely hidden if painted.

Great nailer/stapler combo

Great nailer for the money. I used it to drive about 75 brads in a day installing wainscot in my dining room. The nailer worked flawlessly and drove the nails in great. I used about 90PSI and didn't have to adjust the depth setting from its factory setting. I used 1" brads and only had to tap in a few to sink them before filling in the tiny holes. I haven't tried it with staples, but if it works this great with brads, I'm sure it'll do great with staples as well. Well worth the money, even more.
