This series of yoga practices is easy and fun to follow. And the scenery is gorgeous. Mountains in the background of mountain pose!

Take it from a Beginner
This video is very well done. The instructor takes it slowly, and explains every pose so that you don't hurt yourself. You definitely get a good stretch from each routine. I love the beautiful scenery in the background. I have two of her DVDS.

Wonderful yogo routines and supplement to physical therapy
I have been using Jane Adams' yoga DVDs off and on since 2014. In December 2019 I fell off a ladder and broke my right tibia and fibula, which damaged my calf muscle. I had expected the recovery to go faster than it has because I fractured both femurs and pelvis in a car crash when I was 19 years old, and that recovery was easy-peasy. Unfortunately, the recovery process for someone in their 50s is quite a difference from someone in their teens.I started using Jane's DVDs again every day a few months ago, and wow, what an improvement! Not only have the pains in my leg, ankle, and knee virtually disappeared, but my neck and shoulders are returning to a more healthy posture, something my physical therapist did not think was possible.Just as importantly, I am happier and calmer. I highly recommend any of Jane's DVDs. (Yes, I have them all.) I am so glad I started using her DVDs again. I intend to keep using them, even after I am fully recovered.

Great yoga dvd (and I've tried plenty)!
This dvd is set up for a beginner or someone who wants to just get good stretches in everyday with the choice of 9 different practices. Each practice is very good. Her instructions are easy to follow and I feel like I've done something very good for myself with even 1 practice that doesn't take too much time!

Just What I Wanted, Finally!
I did Bikram yoga in the 1980s. I was looking for a DVD that was similar to that one but not as difficult as I am much older now and wanted to ease back in. I was also looking for one that was positions (with a break after each one like I was used to with Bikram) and not "flow." I invested in a few DVDs, but they all wound up being "flow," and I stopped using them after a few days. This DVD finally was what I was looking for. It was good for beginners. The positions were separate and followed each other. Jane Adams' instruction was easy to follow, and I knew exactly where to stretch during the pose. I have completed the Breath and Gentle Movements section and the Standing Poses section so far. It is exactly what I wanted. You can do as much or little as you have time for in a day. I have completed two weeks of practice so far instead of giving up after a few days. And I feel stronger and plan on continuing everyday while getting deeper into the practices. I will check out her other DVDs, also. Thank you, Jane Adams.

Another great yoga dvd from Jane Adams
Below is the review I posted for another of Jane's dvds "Gently Yoga" which mentions this dvd as well.As a "seasoned" 63-yr old, my body is feeling and showing its age, especially after sitting at a sedentary desk job 40 hours a week. I have practiced yoga off and on for over 30 years, both taking classes and following dvds at home, but wanted some instruction I can do on my time schedule to improve my flexibility, balance and strength. Enter Jane Adam's "Gentle Yoga". What a wonderful treat this dvd is! I have since purchased the "Yoga for Beginners" and "Balance & Strength" dvds, as well. Jane's instruction is wonderful and immediately I felt at ease, as though she was right there with me. If she were here, I am certain we would visit over coffee or tea after a practice.The poses gently stretch and help to limber up my body. Instead of starting an exercise dvd and staying stagnant on the first two or three routines leading to boredom and avoidance, I am working my way through these dvds to discover my favorite practices. The "Lying Practice" is a favorite as well as the "Core Strength & Flexibility". Unlike other exercise dvds, I look forward to coming home and doing one of Jane's practices. The best thing about yoga is that it can be done in all weather temperatures, so the summer heat is not keeping me away from exercising!Thanks, Jane, these dvds are just what I was looking for!

I Am Doing Yoga Every Day With This DVD!
I am so glad I discovered this DVR by Jane Adams! I am an active senior at 68. I ride horses, walk my dog 2 miles a day and ride a Peloton bike. But if I skip my morning yoga routine with Jane, my muscles get tight leading to pain. I had a sore hip at one point, before Jane, and had to go to an orthopedic surgeon who told me I would need a hip replacement. I went to physical therapy for weeks and felt better. Then I discovered Yoga for Beginners and find that if I do a different routine each day, I am pain free! No surgery has been needed and it has been two years! Jane is wonderful to work with and I am never bored. Her voice is soothing and the time passes quickly. I keep a journal so that I get in all the major practices each week. There is a variety targeting the core, hips, forward bends, upper body, balance and relaxation. The practices are done either standing or on the floor. After my yoga practice, I feel relaxed and flexible. Then I can go about my daily activities with ease. I hope this continues to work for me as I get older. I highly recommend Jane Adams and I have ordered Yoga for Beginners for my 27 year old daughter who has a stressful job and works out in a gym. I think it will help her to start her day as it has helped me.

I would give this 10 stars if I could!
I've been putting off exercising. I did Pilates for a while but stopped. This is just super enjoyable to do, yet it is working on my muscle strength, stretching and balance, plus she focuses on breathing to relax the nervous system, etc, etc. She is doing everything I am also learning in my recovery from PTSD due to domestic abuse. I love the relaxing music and the gorgeous scenery!! I am so happy with my purchase. :)

Great beginner video
It's very calming and therapeutic. I'm truly a beginner and I feel the challenge but am not overwhelmed.She is very clear about how you should pose for maximum effect, gives excellent instructions and offers alternatives to accomodate disability, inflexibility or pain.

Excellent for beginners with a variety of sessions.
I bought this DVD set a little while ago but have only just started because I've been enjoying "Gentle Yoga" by Jane Adams very much. Although this is beginner yoga it is challenging enough for me. I am 47 years old and have many issues with muscle stiffness and nerve pain. Some of the poses are tricky because of my nerve pain, but there are alternatives given, not to mention several different sessions to choose from. I look forward to continuing to do these sessions every day. Jane Adams has an easy to follow teaching style, the scenery is beautiful and the music is very well done (I'm a professional musician and can say that it is quite appropriate for the setting!). As a side note, when I received the DVD set there was a thoughtful note from Jane Adams herself. It truly made my day and I love the personal touch. It's now tucked inside the case. Thank you Jane Adams :)

Perfect!
I am so happy with this DVD. So thoughtfully put together. I have previously purchased the other two of Jane's yoga workouts for seniors, and I love them and use them daily. You can mix and match a couple of workouts to fit your energy level or amount of time you have to workout. This DVD is for beginners, but that's not to say you can't challenge yourself. I've been doing yoga for 25 years, I'm 67 and I get a great workout and lots of variety for this DVD. Allows me to continue my practise in a safe way. I can see myself using this DVD for many, many happy yoga years ahead. If Jane keeps making DVD's I'll keep buying them.
