DEWALT Drill Drive Set (8-Piece) DW2730

Love this product. I was able to use one before I purchased and fell in love. Great for around the house for small projects like hanging blinds and such but I'm sure it's great for so much more. It's really nice to be able to switch from drilling then driving a screw with little effort.

I put it on my Christmas list 3 years ago and have found it invaluable for working with lumber. I loved it so much I ended up getting one for my Dad and my brother the next Christmas and we all have it as our every day driver attachment. I ended up misplacing mine (somehow) and bought the replacement same day. Was lost for the 2 days of shipping. Very easy to switch between the opposing sides. The extra counter sink comes i. Very handy if you plan on keeping this for years but it really does hold an edge a LONG time. Only downside is if you don’t predrill the screws do like to go cattywampus on you because it doesn’t slip around the screw like some bit extensions. I ended up buying a different Dewalt extension for that.

Vitals: -- easy to use (quick change) -- I've had mine for years with no problems -- it's useful how it essentially functions as a bit extender as well Pre-drilling your screw holes is one of those things that never seems worthwhile... until you've been at it for a few years, and ruined a few things, and you wish you could go back to your younger self and say "Self? You really should pre-drill... and save yourself some heartache. Also, don't bother to see Hot Tub Time Machine... it's terrible." Anyway... this tool makes pre-drilling so easy that you'll quickly realize how wrong you were not to do it in the first place. I know, I know. It hurts inside just to think about it.... but the sooner you get this tool, the sooner the healing can begin.

This is an awesome timesaver. I was going to buy a second drill before I found this. It makes drilling pilot holes and installing deck screws a snap.

Was looking for these in the bigbox stores forever to replace earlier sets that were stolen. This is the only place I found them. These are valuable, time saving, tools for me.

Searched hi and low for the Craftsman to replace my ancient one. This Dewalt pkg has less bits and seems less durable but was the best kit I could find at a reasonable price.

the first one I bought worked great for about a year and then the release stopped working and I could not get the bit out of the holder. I tried very hard to remove it but it would not budge. So I bought a second one and within a month or two the same thing happened. It seems like the release mechanism gets jammed after a while and then you cannot remove and turn the bit around to access the other side. Once that happens you are left simply with an expensive driver bit.

Best drill-drive set that I've used. The bits and the screwdriver tips are easy to change and the set screws avoid the screwdriver tip pulling out if hung up on a screw head. Fast easy changes from drill to driver. Make sure to have extra 3/32" drill bits on hand as they can break fairly easily from any lateral pressure. My first set gave up the ghost after about 7 years so got my moneys worth.
