Yes. the temperture at 40C by default.

Q: does "fully automatic" mean it shuts itself off when finished?

We love this little, easy-to-operate machine, but it doesn't shut off automatically. The only way to turn it on or off is to manually plug it into the electrical outlet or to manually unplug it.

Q: Can you make sour cream?

I don't know as the instructions that came with the machine do not mention if it can make sour cream. We only make German style quark with it from low-fat cultered buttermilk.
