Old key card I would use would ger caught and break.This one is solid, co worker has had his for years.

This product works great and does what it needs to do
This product works great and does what it needs to do. However I did give only 4 stars cuz the movable clip part thats supposed to lock tightly so it doesnt fall off your belt loops seems to get a little loose after a few months and Ive had some times where I didnt notice that it fell off my pants and almost lost my keys, not to mention its not exactly centered for weight as well, it tends to slightly tilt to one side of my belt loop where it happens to also attach and lock to my belt causing it to fall off. its heavy duty but tooooo heavy duty I feel in my opinion with the weight.

Great for GoPro cameras when diving
I was looking for a retractable solution for my GoPro to take underwater diving. This is exactly what I wanted. Seems like it’s going to do the trick. I’ll update my review after a few dives in salt water.

Fatal Flaw
This is a nearly perfect design with one fatal flaw. After about 8 months the wire loop that holds your badges/keys shears and eventually breaks. The place where the wire loop connects to the tether begins to fray and then very quickly fails. I've purchased this product twice and each time it failed in exactly the same place. If they could fix this or provide 2 of the wire loops this product would be perfect.

Broken locking mechanism
It worked fine until today; however, the locking mechanism broke because it was held together by a little plastic piece which just broke off. So I would say if you want to have the thing work for just a few months then buy this item. Other than that, don't waste your time.

idiotproof my live!
There are times when my brain can keep very little active information in it. Then I tie my crap to me and keep on goin. This guy is usually toting a pretty decent sized flashlight and does it great. Lot of power in this dude. Also, if you use a cast iron pan (which you shoulddddd) you can season it with bacon fat. just sayin
