Great dehydrator, would recommend
We bought this dehydrator to produce backpacking meals and healthy snacks. We ran it continuously for 48hrs with great success. We were able to dehydrate a risotto and a beef chilli in around 10hours ready for stay in a remote both where we had no cooking facilities, as well as some veggies and strawberries. The temperature goes up in 5’C intervals, the machine is nice and compact, very simple to use, love that it is all metal, I would recommend buying some silicone mats as it makes cleaning the racks a lot easier. It was also surprisingly very quiet which was an added bonus. Great value for money.

Awesome product. Easy to use. Fully stainless steel. Easy to clean. Go for it. I highly recommend it
Pros It’s small and easy to store. Fully stainless steel. Easy to clean. Looks great. Works well. Dried Fruits and it worked a treat. Noise levels bearable. Cons Small if you want to dry larger quantities. Can’t drink if anything else.

Happy with purchase - good dehydrator
The dehydrator seems to work very well though I need use it more to test it fully, which I will do in the coming weeks. I did do a quick test with my own thermometer and the machine seems accurate and heats up very quickly to the required temperature. Then it stay within a few degrees C of the set temperature. I chose this brand as it seems one of the few brands where the temperature can go up to 90C (a lot of dehydrators only go up to 70C). It looks a bit industrial compared to some other brands but it seems well built and it has stainless steel shelves instead of plastic ones (which is another reason I choose this product).

Even drying Dehydrator
A super efficient machine, primarily purchased for the compact size and being free of BPA and within a reasonable price bracket for it's use. It is very quiet in use, as long as trays all fully back in place. The size allows it to fit onto a worktop space with ease, but also ample shelving room for drying. So far, I have dried banana and chillies on separate occasions and both times on the bottom, middle and top shelf. The results were great with even drying and the original colours kept.

Small in stature but many uses.
A bit smaller than expected, did not dry anything yet as I received it less than an hour ago, switched it on though very low noice compared to my old dehydrator, fully stainless steel, this is the reason I bought it as the one I had was plastic the trays disintegrated fairly quickly, first of those machines was excellent the second not so good the third unbalance fan and I did not trust it. Absolutely excellent used it many a time now, I dry meats for the dog treats and fuits for parrot treats (and dog) it is near noiceless in operating, operating costs are minimal. Plus it is so much mor efficient to the plastic one I had, it dries better and cuts at leasat six hours (and more) of the dehydrating process. well worth the extra money and I am sure it will last much much longer thatn the plastic one I had (which was three in two years) Therefore bought this one love the size that its stainless and the controll are easy to use, the best thing too it has aftercooling when you stop it it runs on so not to switch it off hot. do run it without anything for about half an hour as it does stink like a lot of ne ovens really, it soon gone, gonna try and dry stuff tonight, will give report tomorrow. I use it for drying fruits (have parrotts) and meat for treats for the dogs

The thermostat doesn’t really work as intended
This is a cheap and I was hoping cheerful dehydrator that starts its lowest setting at 25 degrees Celsius. However it fluctuates between 25-50 so if you are doing anything that requires exact temperatures you should look elsewhere.

Fantastic stainless steel dehydrator!
Fantastic dehydrator! Sturdy stainless steel is essential for a dehydrator, in my opinion. One of the best options out there and it works perfectly. Highly recommend!

A shock!
I've decided to do a detailed review of this product partly because it is very unusual. Whether that turns out to be good or bad will be revealed over the course of the review which is divided into first impression, first use, and conclusions after multiple uses. At time of writing I have no idea whether this will turn out to be a wonderful gadget or whether it will burn my house down! FIRST IMPRESSIONS At first glance the quality comes as a bit of a shock. It is not "consumer electronics" quality with a very basic design, construction and function. It almost feels industrial or what a hobbyist would use (see pics). If this was any other sort of kitchen device it would be going straight back to Amazon but considering what it is used for I will risk it. That said, the actual materials used and workmanship is ok, except for a lose screw or washer somewhere inside rattling about. The power on/off switch is also poorly fitted. It has a CE mark, whether that means anything or not , or genuine or not. It also has a virtually impossible to fully remove sticker on the light aluminium tray. I have fired it up and I am testing it empty. I set it to 60° . It initially went up to 80° which might be because it was empty. It's thermostat turns on when the temp falls below 58° and turns off at 70°. So its not a precision instrument but my guess is it will be ok for normal dehydration. It draws 450w , not the 400w advertised. This is not unusual for any kitchen appliance. The door latch doesn't hold the door closed tight. I suspect it doesn't really matter as the door has loads of vents anyway but I have put some tape on the latch to tighten it up. This really sums things up; first impressions are that it's all a bit low tech and shoddy but I suspect, or hope at least, that it will get the job done. Finally it is smaller than it looks. The trays are about the size of a typical 7" iPad or tablet. The solid tray has a sticker on it and its almost impossible to remove the glue residue. Because the tray is so light scraping with a sharp knife will damage it. It took about 5 applications of alchohol and a lot of scraping to remove it. So from being on the brink of putting it back in its box and returning it, I am now more relaxed and warming to this product (sorry about the pun). Once I have used it I will update this review. IN USE It was really only when I started to use it I realized its limitations. It is far too small. I used 3 of the 6 trays for my first attempt and ended up with only 215g of dried food. It is also hard to clean. On the positive side it did do a good job drying the food and didn't take too long. I suspect fully packed it would probably take a lot longer. Overall I would say it's ok if you definitely want a small s/steel dehydrator but it is way too expensive for its size and quality. At £30 I would be giving it a thumbs up for being cheap and cheerful. At £105 ,now £110 you can get much bigger and hopefully better quality. I will be returning this and trying the Sous Vide 9 s/steel tray 700w which is slightly cheaper and has 3 times the capacity. UPDATE 2: The Sous Vede was a complete disaster. The case is made from a light plastic with no thermal properties and the fan barely moved the air so it took forever to dry and used way too much electricity. So it got returned too. There is a happy ending though. I bought a Nicehomfit dehydrator (see last pic) from Amazon.de . Excellent quality stainless steel body and shelves and twice the capacity of the GCSJ. Comparing the two would be a bit like comparing a kit car to a BMW. It is £35 more expensive but about twice the capacity and 10 times the quality. However, the GCSJ dehydrator does work well enough if you don't mind how small it is and I found it very easy to deal with the seller , who was honest, polite and responsive. Therefore I think a 3* rating is a more fair one than the previous 2*
