I bought this book to help me make things from my childhood and this didn't disappoint. Easy makes that can be altered to gluten free. I've already tried the sultana scones and it was faultless. Very excited to try more. This is now my go to recipe book.

Has basic recipes, but that's all. No photos and minimal instructions. Satisfactory, but not very interesting.

Great little recipe book

I bought this item and it's "Wee Granny" companion book since I had a "Wee Granny" and I lived in that northern British time and culture. My Granny was a marvelous cook and many of her recipes have been stored in my memory. She never wrote any but she showed me. I figured that this pair of books would have a close enough presentation of what was similar for me. It turned out to be that way. Some readers will need to chase down the names of some ingredients, especially residents of North America. Canadians will manage better since they have lots of Scots and Scottish ancestry. The books gave me what I wanted. But do not look for classic language and literary excellence. It's plain talk and rightly useful.
