Wok Shop's Carbon Steel Hand Hammered 2-handle Round Bottom Wok (20 inch)

Fantastic service from The Wok Shop. I ordered a wok that was not going to fit my needs. The Wok Shop called me and discussed my order, then suggested a better wok that was actually less money. They refunded the difference and sent me my new wok. With it came great instructions and I was able to season it perfectly right away. Best customer service and product support. Here is a pic of my seasoned wok right out of the oven.

Perfect size for using on our sailboat as the galley stove is smaller than a house range. Fits just right on the support rings over the propane burner. Now I just need a lid!

This wok, like all carbon steel woks of its kind, has one great defect, which other reviewers fail to note: It is a product not made to work well on a typical gas stove, since carbon steel cools too quickly and is a mediocre conductor of heat. A wok of this kind requires the great heat that is characteristic of professional Chinese stoves, rather than the much lower heat of consumer stoves. One can patiently heat this wok, but as soon as vegetables or meats or shrimp are added to it, its heat drops immediately. The foodstuffs end up cooking under a much lower heat than what is required for searing. At the same time, the wok distributes ts heat poorly, so it does not become uniformly hot. A wok ring, which brings the wok farther from the flame of the stove, makes matters worse. After using the wok a few times--I have cooked with various types of woks for forty years-I discarded it.

Absolutely wonderful 10-inch wok which fits beautifully on my cast iron wok ring on my Samsung stove. Follow the seasoning directions enclosed if you purchase this item, and you will be very pleased. It is just beautiful. Just the right size for smaller creations; I also own a 14-inch wok.

I've used it a couple times since seasoning the wok. It's awesome! Now I just need to start collecting some great recipes!

This WOK is beautiful. The hammered finish looks really pretty once it's seasoned. The handles do not interfere with the tossing and turning of food. Don't forget to buy the ring- it's not included. I called the WOK Shop to order a ring and they were wonderful on the phone. Good people.

Recently received the hand hammered Wok. The seasoning instructions were very easy and yielded a wonderfully seasoned Wok. It delivered a noticeable Wok Hei after the first seasoning.
