Humphrey's First Palm Sunday Hardcover – February 1, 2013

Written from a Christian perspective- our family loved it!

When I saw this book, I knew I wanted it, as I already have Humphrey's First Christmas by the same author, and it is one of my favorite Christmas stories for children. The illustrations are stunning, and each page has only a few sentences. It is a lovely story--perfect for young children. Humphrey is funny, yet he is able to see that Jesus is the Savior. A delightful book!

Great book for Sunday school. I love the camel illustrations and we have bought several copies because it keeps disappearing in the rooms.

Praise Jesus! Jesus is King!

I love this to use during Holy Week when the kids are familiar with the original story. I think the language in this Humphrey flows a bit better than the first one and it's more kid friendly. Spoiler alert: the blanket we remember from the first book appears in this one. I like that connection.

We first bought Humphrey's Christmas. This book is just as good. Kids like Humphrey because he is a little ridiculous -- self absorbed and he acts like a clown. I like Humphrey because the stories are light but they integrate into important Christian stories for my Sunday School class. The illustrations in this book aren't quite as good as the ones in the Christmas book, but this is a good addition for your collection of books.

These books are so awesome! I read it to the kids at church on Palm Sunday to give a different perspective. The humor is just right. The art is fantastic. Humphrey for the win!

Our book arrived with one corner of each page being pushed in. It didn't greatly affect the story or the images so we kept the book and we were given a refund due to the condition it arrived in. Having said that I love the story it is very fun and such a great perspective with creativity and joy. We love having this as part of our easter book collection and its a favourite with our son and all the adults. Looking forward to getting the Christmas one next!

Humphrey is a beloved camel who brings a tender perspective to the Easter story. Carol Heyer is a masterful writer and illustrator. Children love Humphrey as a character and relate to his wishes, dreams and eventual discovery about Christ.
