Evans Sports Standard Ammo Box

ORGINAL POST OF FIRST BOX. please read complete review. Took over 5 weeks to arrive with Amazon prime two day shipping...(ordered while item said in Stock with over 10 left) Amazon kept changing the date and then even asked if I still wanted it. However, the product itself is amazing. Well constructed and does great. Looks great too! Perfect small chest to store ammo or whatever you wanted.EDIT PLEASE READOkay, so I was so impressed with the first ammo box I decided to buy the exact same chest but with the woodland ducks on it. This time it arrived within 2 days as promised by prime! However the chest was in horrible condition. The lid is not centered right and has a gap when it closes. There was a cracked half way across the lid that went the whole way through. The bottom of the box has a warp/dent and has a chip. The front side of the box appears slanted slightly. Very disappointed, esp due to the first one being so nice. I am returning the item.

I was worried that I would get a box with offset edges and the like, but was pleasantly surprised. I'd recommend this box to anyone wanting to bring some style to their storage. I think that it would be best used indoors, as its handles are relatively shallow indents on the sides which make carrying it further than the distance one would expect to travel indoors awkward. It also lacks weather stripping or sealing, and so wouldn't be appropriate for storing anything at a camp site, though it may set the ambiance if you bring it out and keep it in a covered cab or trailer.

Absolutely love this box!!!! The picture on the front (we choose the wood ducks) is amazing beautiful. The handles are not very deep so I would imagine it would be hard to pick up if you really filled this box up with ammo and made it very heavy (you have to pick it up with your finger tips if you use the handles). We are actually using this box for more of a decorative purpose. It is actually sitting in our entertainment center in our living room and it holds all the millions of remotes that we have (its perfect for that!!!). I would highly recommend this box for anyone looking to add little beautiful, rustic, functional decor to a room. Shipping was also extremely fast and the box was packaged very well.

I ordered this item to store my musket loading gear in, and was expecting a fairly good box that would be good for the purpose.When the box arrived, I was more than pleasently surprised. At least to me, this was put together by a craftman. The thing that impressed me to start was how heavy the wood was. Not some 1/2 inch pine slat, but wood at least a inch thick, and instead of screws or nails, all sides were dovetailed in neatly, to show they knew what they were doing. It also has a nice set of brass hingesNeedless to say, my wife was very impressed also.Now, I have a delima. I consider it more worthy of being a musket gear box, and will reserve it for some suitable use, to be decided by either me, or my WIFELuckily for me, Amazon has a heavy duty platic box just for this purpose and have ordered it

I really like the traditional look of this box. I have started to try to get all of my ammo organized and thought this would be a good way to get started. It is well made and I love the design and the fact it is made out of wood. Some of the nails were not flush with the wood and caused a few scratches and a slight gouge, but honestly, it wasn't that bad, it just added to the old fashioned look of the box and did not effect the functionality at all. I am going to get a small hasp and lock to install on it for a bit of added security. I might also look for a box that comes with a locking mechanism. Overall, this is well worth the price.

I have a small travel trailer which has limited storage so I got this to put on a small ledge to store canned goods which I would otherwise have to store under the seats which are kind of pain to get into. I go this to as part of the cabin decor I have created. Box is well built. I ordered it Friday and got i Monday. Well built love it and it works for what I bought it for. I might have to order another one for ammo.

Upon opening the shipping box , the wooden ammo box was in rough shape. Dents , scratches, hinge screws where completely pulled out. I was able to repair the hinge damage and touch up the bad spots in the finish. These problems had to exist before shipment due to the how well the box was packed. Otherwise I am satisfied with the box , just wish shipper was more attentive to product quality.

This ammo box is absolutely beautiful!!!I filled it with bunches of small gifts for my son's birthday he's going to love it.Multipurpose....then use it for his ammo.

This box is way too pretty to throw any reloading or ammo in it. I kept it on my desk for a few hours to admire it, the laser etching is rustic, but very visually appealing. The wood used is not the best quality, but for the price its very good. As others have mentioned, the bottom of the box could have used better quality adhesion than industrial staples. I don't think this box will hold more than 30lbs. I'm going to remove those staples, apply some wood glue and screw the bottom end with some good screws. Overall the ammo box aesthetically is beautiful, but practically don't think the bottom will hold up to some serious storage, until some work is done to reinforce it.

Well built & reliable. Though not important, will install a belt handle on the top for easier handling. Good value. Bob

Terrible workmanship. Joints don't fit together properly. Corners dented upon opening box. Get a cardboard box it would be better quality. This will be returned immediately.

Very nice. Bigger than expected.
