I'm a mechanic and have gone through half a dozen watches in a matter of a few years. Decided I dont want to keep wearing a wristwatch and decided to get this instead. Works well, huge display is easy to read at a glance, holds time flawlessly and takes up almost no space in the pocket because of how flat it sits.Works extremely well for my needs, your mileage may vary.

I am so pleased with this purchase. I am very rough on watches and fit bits. I usually bang them silly. Decided to try this pocket watch and I couldn’t be more pleased. Very durable. Easy to read without bifocals and professionalism looking.

Well designed, accurate, water resistant, shock resistant, and enjoyable to carry. Like the date display, but wish it had day of the week. Would like an active night glow face to view in the dark. Have three Gothams. Would buy again.

I've had some nice watches in my life. I remember a 'brand name' self-winding that I got from my grand parents on H.S. graduation. I'd still use it if I could see the difference between the gold hands on a gold face. I never seem to have the correct glesses on - bi-focals for near (lap) reading, 'computer' classes for arm's length to the screen, or 'distance' glasses for TV across the room or when outside. I've tried digital (LCD screen) and the lighting just seems wrong all the time. I've seen wrist watches with faces the size of a silver dollar and impressive 'complications' etc. I just wanted simple, clean watch that is easy to read. It need not be on my wrist - I'm not interested in making a statement. And this one fills the bill.It does require that you remember "Thirty days hath November, ...." as at the beginning of the month you have to decide whether to backup a day if there was n 31. Then there's February and Leap Year considerations. I can deal with it. I even already have the little watch pocket on most of my trousers and with the chain I know that it will be there when I want it. I don't even need to 'move around a lot' as with the old self-winder.

Love the size and essy to read. Chain is cheap and not fitting for the watch, but they did provide one.

A little bigger than would have liked, but keeps good time and looks well made.
