So much for eco bamboo credentials.
I was very upset when this arrived to find a layer of polyurethane. I defy anyone to find mention of that in the lively description of this so called eco product. I certainly didn’t - all nano technology and bamboo - not polyurethane. I’m really upset as I specifically didn’t want a polyurethane sheet which is the very reason I bought this. They say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover - but you can’t even judge this cover by it’s description. I think it is rather dishonest to talk about TPU as a rather trendy eco product - it clearly stands for polyurethane. Bye bye eco credentials.

Exactly as expected: a high quality waterproof mattress protector.
Ordered 15:46 Tuesday, delivery 3-6 days; dispatched by Panda 13:18 Weds; delivered Thursday lunchtime.Delighted with our super-king version, which not only looks to be top quality, but is also a great deal less expensive than the one it replaces. The bag/pouch is a nice touch of class that can’t add significantly to the cost, and as some form of packing is necessary, it’s a lot better than plastic.First in Good Housekeeping comparative tests and review, so we take its performance on trust.Well made: as can be seen in the listing photos, all the seams are strong run-and-fell and the skirt fabric (polyester jersey) is more robust than that of either our quilted cover or heated under-blanket.It’s a perfect, drum-tight, fit on our 24cm deep super-king mattress. Made with a separate skirt (unlike a one-piece bottom sheet), the corners are curved – exactly matching our mattress. Once fitted, I did leave the bed otherwise unmade for several hours to allow the protector to stretch and lose its wrinkles before pulling it tight. The waterproof face material is no thinner than that from which our lightweight rain-jackets are made, but unlike them it doesn’t russle! Now that the wrinkles are gone, the face fabric has no stretch in it at all; however, the elasticated mesh skirt ‘gives’ so that the comfort of our lovely soft mattress isn’t affected. As it’s covered by a cotton quilted cover in summer and a heated under-blanket in winter, we don’t expect it to contribute to the comfort of our bed and mattress, but to completely protect them in the event of an ‘accident’ of any form. With both another cover and a 400-count cotton sheet on top of it, we don’t expect this protector to need washing before spring, when it’ll be able to dry naturally outside for a day. When it comes to washing the Panda cover, we shall NOT be tumble-drying it for fear of shortening the life of the PU layer. In case you’re wondering why we have both a waterproof protector and a separate quilted cover (or electric under-blanket), the answers is simple: after washing, our quilted cover needs a sunny, breezy, day outside and several days ‘airing’ indoors before it’s properly dry; if one face was waterproof how long would it take to dry? Secondly, a breathable waterproof layer is needed between either under-blanket and the mattress.

This mattress protector is far less noisy than cheaper versions i have had in the past.
This mattress protector is far less noisy than cheaper versions i have had in the past.I have tried to show in the photos, the 3 types of materials - the shiny underneath which protects the mattress, the soft smooth upper layer which you sheet goes onto (or you could sleep straight onto it) and then the side material which is very stretchy so can easily cover the mattress. It fits nicely onto the bed which also had a topper on it, so it would easily fit over an extra depth bed.So far it has kept our new mattress topper & mattress clean and fresh. The only annoying thing about this mattress protector is that after washing it, it takes a very long time to dry. That being said, it is too be expected due to the nature of the item. The bag is also cute and and is currently being reused as a pyjama bag!

Great quality, super soft
Bought this mattress protector for our young kids and their new beds and mattresses. It's so nice to find a breathable, waterproof protector that doesn't make a crinkling sound when they move or make them sweat because of the non-breathable waterproofing. It's an expensive protector but it's worth the money for the quality and for the peace of mind knowing that the mattress is safe from little accidents and that our little ones get a good nights sleep on something comfortable.

BEWARE!
Had this on my new mattress for around six months. Fitted my deep mattress no problem. Problem was the heat - just ended up with a really sweaty bed every morning!! Maybe I messed it up using too much heat in the dryer??I also had another problem, which was lower back pain. It was so bad that I had really difficulty turning in the morning when I was in bed. I thought it was either, age, my new expensive mattress, or swimming three to four times a week. Anyway - since removing the mattress protector the pain has gone!! (I know it’s weird right?)So all I’m trying to say is if you any of these issues, try removing this mattress protector and see if your life improves. Mine did 🙂. Sorry Panda x

Silky soft to touch
First of all, I loved the way this was packaged; the protector came in a very classy pouch which clearly states the size.Secondly, when fitting it fits perfectly on the mattress and there is no 'noise' to contend with once fitted.I purchased the protector for a new bed in an attic conversion. My daughter is arriving home tomorrow having just finished her 2nd Year at Uni - she didn't make it home in time for Lockdown - and she will be testing it out, so I can't actually comment yet on how it fares for a night's sleep. But I did have a sneaky lie down in the bed and it felt super nice!I love the fact that this is an eco-friendly product. This is the way forward. Here's to my daughter returning home having been away for 6 months and hopefully loving her new sleeping arrangements! Thanks and well done Panda :)

Not breathable and does not do the job of protecting the mattress
Feels quite bouncy when unpackaging. Very sweaty once on the bed. Takes ages to dry.Edit: not waterproof...
