Good expansion
Helps the game last longer and gives a fun dynamic. Island tiles can be large and the fortresses offer another way to score points. Also allows for 5 Vikings to play and spread trade, or death and destruction as opportunities arise.

There are pointy rocks
It's a good expansion for a good game. I just wish it added dinosaurs and lasers

A must buy for Explorers of the North Sea
I enjoyed Explorers of the North Sea but it felt like there was something missing. This expansion turns a good game into a great game. It adds extra game mechanics that work well in the game and gives you much more to do than just conquer settlements , fight other ships and gather livestock. It added specialized buildings that change some of the rules of the game. There is also shipwrecks that can be salvaged for gold for extra victory points, battering rams to reduce the number of warriors needed to raid, wood for building structures, and extra provisions for more moves. The addition of the extra tiles also makes the game go longer which is good because it felt a little short.
