Nice desk. Comes assembled, regardless of the description, so be read to accept delivery of a BIG box.
If you've been in any offices, you've likely seen HON furniture. This desk, like most HON furniture, is assembled from parts made of MDF...but don't let that sway you. This is not a lightweight, flimsy item like you might buy at your local office supply store. This is a pretty heavy, and well built desk...and of course, the price reflects that! Anyway, I recently remodeled my office, and this desk was of the size, and had the look and the finish that I wanted.Additionally, when I purchased it, I specifically looked to see if it came assembled or unassembled. I WANTED unassembled, since I was putting it in an upstairs office, at the top of a set of stairs with a tight u-turn and a right angle into the room it was to go into!.Well, guess what...it came assembled. All 230 or so pounds of it! Luckily, I was able to get it up the carpeted stairs, by myself, by sliding it on the top...and then on end, I slid it through the door of my office with almost a eighth of an inch of space to spare!Anyway, once in the office, it was exactly as pictured. The shipping container it came is was very rugged, and protected the desk very well, so there was no damage, no scratches. There WAS a lot of cardboard for me to cut up and fit into my recycling bin, though.I specifically sized this desk for the room I had to put it in. And I wasn't really surprised to see it come assembled. So, that's why I bought the 66x30 size. But if I were to do it again, I'd get the desk that was 36" deep, even though I'd have to disassemble it before getting it in my office. I find that my feet tend to hit the modesty panel when I'm seated at the desk. If I had the deeper desk, I don't think this would be a problem. I'm going to stick with this, given it fits my office really well...but I mention it for people who might be trying to decide on a size for their own needs.
