The Amp valve type selector is a gimmick and the difference in types is negligible.You can get better variation using pedals.The cleantone breaks up like it's trying to mimic a low watage valve amp.So if you want s clean tone stay clear.The amp is also unmusical and can't handle full blown cord s it sounds muddy.The amp I had the clean volume doesn't kick in till you get near to 12 o'clock so a problem there.Summary, expensive,amp valve types a waste of time,no usable clean tones early break up.I would say there are much better options out there.

I never bother to write reviews, but have today. I have a Katana 100, played a blues cube and owned other tube amps. The Nextone is really very good. I disliked the Katana due to all the computer interactions needed to do what I wanted. I just wanted a good tube sound, and this gives it in bucket loads. It is far superior to the Katana 100 regardless of what others say and there is a clear difference between the four amp modulations and they all sound really good. I am really happy with the purchase. Yes it is much more expensive, but i will never have to change any faulty tubes. Enough said.
