Veranda 5 in. x 5 in. x 58 in. Aluminum Post Insert

Most store bought PVC vinyl fence usually has weak and flimsy thin posts to connect the fence panels and/or gates together. Unfortunately the posts often flex much more than expected and can easily knock adjustments loose. One method to further secure a post is to insert a Veranda Aluminum Post into the interior of the PVC post. When screws are drilled in place they puncture the thin PVC pole and meet the body of the aluminum insert giving it a nice solid connection. A must for gates!Best recommendation is to purchase the tallest inserts possible for your post.

I attached wood to one of my 5” vinyl fence posts to hang a badminton net, and boy was that springy. Dropping one of these in there made a big difference.

If using it only as an inser, it would be fine. However I hoped to attach gate hinges to it and could not drill into the insert and the insert did not accommodate drilling into both the face and the adjacent side. Ended up buying wooden post insert.

This thing is awesome! It is so durable, I broke 3 bits on it trying to drill through it. Of course they were cheap bits though! I would definitely buy it again!

Works wonders. I purchased this because I had to cut a post to have a space wide enough top have my new shed delivered. This slides perfectly into a 5x5 post and as you can see in the picture the post slides over the insert and is more solid than when originally built. Great product
