Excellent, but not great for deep snow
Never bought a Hurtta jacket that I didn't love, this ones no different. Love the new back length adjustable feature, great for my dog with a high tail set. Fits him much better than the previous version of the winter jacket! :)***EDIT***I still love this coat, I still love Hurtta products, but we just got a really heavy snowfall and I took my pup out in this coat and was a little dissapointed. He stayed quite warm, he was running around the woods, but the chest portion of the coat very quickly became SUPER packed with snow and ice. Hes a 37 lb dog, wears a size 20, and I easily pulled 1.5 lbs of snow out of his coat after being in the woods for less than 10 minutes. Its still fabulous for cold and windy days and crap weather, but I will be sticking with his Hurtta Ultimate Warmer for deep snow, as its never done that before.

ONLY jacket you will need for winter.
Was skeptical due to high pricing, but after searching EVERYWHERE for a really good dog jacket, I settled on this. I'm very glad I did.Pros:- solid gore-tex material on exterior, soft fleece on interior.- very easy to put on and unable to be removed by dog b/c of chest clip. Just have to slip over head and pull the chest portion through legs and buckle around the dog's back.- very light in actual weight but still thick and durable. The goretex and fleece combo shield all wind, rain and snow.Others have said the sizing is odd but if you follow their guide I find it to be accurate. NOTE: If you're not sure whether to go smaller or larger, larger will tend to be better as the elastic straps allow you to tighten around head, neck and tail. I found the 20" fit perfectly for my pit mix. You can see in the photos how it fits naturally without any tightening of the elastic. The neck portion is pulled back a bit, I just didn't pull forward and tighten for the photo. These are his exact measurements:23" neck29" chest21" length from withers to base of tailI was concerned it would not be long enough, but the length seems perfect. If it was slightly longer I would still be able to tighten the elastic. That being said, the next size up at 22" would have worked well to cover more around the abdomen as it would have hung a tad lower, I just prefer a snug fit. There are two elastic bands by the tail that wrap around the hind legs. Was a pricey investment but I would highly recommend. I only need one jacket - as long as the bugger doesn't find and chew it when I'm not home!

Can I give it 10 stars?
I don't generally like buying dog items that need to be sized online, however the chart provided in the listing is comprehensive and resulted in a perfect fit the first time.I chose the Hurtta Summit Parka since we live in the PNW where it's cold, wet, and/or snowy for 4-6 months out of the year. I've heard a general rule of thumb is that if you are cold, your dog is cold, especially for short hair dogs, or dogs without an undercoat. We enjoy getting out in the winter, and snow hiking, but we have a young border collie with no undercoat. His first snow hike he was cold and wet when we got back to the car, and he curled up in a little ball on the way home slowly stretching out as he warmed up. Our next snow hike he had the Summit Parka. When we got back to the car, only his legs, face and tail were wet, and it was warm under the coat. He did not curl up in a ball on the way home. I'm 100% sold. Once our puppy is full size he will also be getting a Summit Parka. The coat is exceptional quality. It's easy to get on and off, and has a few adjustment points if you want to snug it up (which we haven't needed to yet). It does not slip around, and he hikes as if he isn't wearing a coat. He's done about 11 miles over two weekends with plenty of running, and jumping around on logs and rocks. It does not impede his agility or speed. The top layer is a water resistant material and under is a fleece layer. For our upper 20's - low 40's hiking weather it will be perfect.Highly recommended!

Cherry = pink. Great fit for skinny but deep chested dog!
Color: The color Cherry is a bright pink. It looked red on my computer. It’s not. Luckily I read several reviews and have a female dog, so it’s perfect for us.Fit: This was tricky as her measurements didn’t match the sizing chart. My dog is a small and slender, 50 pounds on a good day, deep chested, tiny waist, even skinnier necked, Weimaraner. Her neck measures 14”, chest is 27” and withers (that’s the area between the shoulder blades, I had to google it. Now you don’t, you’re welcome) to tail is 21”. With the neck and chest being fairly adjustable, I focused on the length. I was torn between the 20” and 22” size and ultimately decided to go with the 22”. I think either would have worked well. But since we live in Colorado and go up in the mountains often, she has room for a an additional fleece underneath. Helpful when we are camping in very cold weather, so I was happy to have the extra wiggle room. What I love:The neck and tail areas can cinch tighter. It’s a great fit across her front legs and chest. The area around the legs is soft and the entire inside of the coat is practically seemless and doesn’t rub her skin. There is a flap for attaching a leash to a harness worn under the coat. There is reflective material on the center strap as well as the hind area.Very happy with this purchase!

Excellent, versatile coat.
Not only do I love it, but my dog loves it. And she hates coats. I bought this to summit Mt Washington with my dog. It was 24F at the top with 50+mph winds and my girl did great with this coat.It also makes it easy to pair with a base layer if your dog (like mine) has very thin coat and no fat.

Chancers best avoided.
Comparing this company to cowboys would be a gross disservice. To cowboys that is. I would *strongly advise* steering clear of this mob. Or -if you do insist on purchase— please ensure you keep a forensic record of all dealings with them. Including photographs if appropriate. My circumstances are these. I placed an order for a Hurrta Summit parka with them on 30/10/18. Not the cheapest product but it came highly recommended by a friend. The parka arrived a few days later. I tried it on my dog and discovered it was too large. Prior to packaging it up, I noticed a few dog hairs had stuck to the interior fleece. (Given the natural adherent nature of this material, it’s well-nigh impossible for them not to.) I took a velcro brush to the lining, removed everything I could see and returned the item by way of exchange request. Didn’t think to much about it. Today I had a phone call from them saying the parka was ‘fur laden’, ‘dog haired’ and ‘dirty’. The gentleman used all 3 words interchangeably. When challenged on this, he stated there were approximately ’20 hairs’ of the ‘Golden Lab’ variety. My dog is a cropped and short-haired Border Terrier. Anyway, the upshot was this - they were retaining the product and I was due only a partial refund. A cleaning charge of 20% was necessary. Apparently. Ever seen that Clint Eastwood film ‘The Outlaw Josey Wales’? A line in it came thundering back: ‘Don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining’. I feel fleeced by this company (no pun intended) and don’t want you to have the the same experience. I look forward to seeing the photographic evidence I’ve asked for. I’ve had dogs all my life and bought numerous items on and offline for them. Never had this experience. Not only would I never use the company again but, if they’re genuine agents of Hurrta, I’ll look elsewhere for a dog coat. Plus 7k likes? Don’t know what’s more incredible. That that’s true. Or the length of this review. It's the first proper one I've been compelled to do.

Great jacket. Go bigger on size & concentrate on the length of the dog for measurements!
Really good coat. We originally bought a Barbour wax coat for our cocker spaniel but she hated it. I think it was the way the material sat as it didn’t wrap around her very nicely. This coat is much better. The fleece lining is great and it’s very easy to put on.We have to re-order a bigger size. I’d done all of the measurements but none of them suited her exactly enough. I went for the 35 but changed it for 2 up to the 45.Biggest recommendation is to go bigger than you think and mainly concentrate on the measurement from neck to tail as it’s most important the jacket covers the whole of the back. It’s much easier to get on as it’s bigger everywhere else and you then tighten it on with the toggles and the adjustable strap. Perfect!

Lovely coats!
I started to get poorly before Christmas so my mummy bought me one of these coats so that I could stay warm when we went out for walkies. I don't have to go to the vets so much now and I'm feeling a lot better. The coat keeps my fur dry and I don't get so dirty because the chest panel stops any splashes when I jump in the puddles. Mummy says it's really easy to wipe clean too - she hasn't had to put it in the washing machine yet. I got a new baby sister a few weeks ago and mummy bought her a matching coat so that we would look the same. Bessie's coat was quite big and mummy adjusted it so that it would fit her better and now that she is growing mummy can adapt it to fit her without having to buy a new coat each time she gets bigger. People smile at us when we go out on our walks and say 'what lovely coats'. Eddy the Collie.

Much better than the others I've used.
Great coat that keeps my dog warm and dry. The coat has both a strap that goes round the waist and also elasticated loops at the back that for the back legs keeping it firmly in place even when my dog has been charging about in the woods. Quality of the materials and stitching seems great so I expect it to last a while. Its not the cheapest but certainly the best I've tried.
