Description clearly states rug is white/ Black & its not; its Ivory (w yellowish undertone) & black. When placed next to white cabinets/baseboard its yellowish (see pic in daylight). Rug is wool, feels thick underfoot not thin and soft, but not plush, more firm like a wool rug usually is. Color is ivory/ black with a nice zebra pattern and good quality, with no loose fibers.With regards to shedding, it doesn't appear to be the case. May shed when vacuumed frequently & firmly, but no shedding was occurring from walking on it. If you need a WHITE zebra rug, this is Not the one for you.

Sheds constantly. Very unhappy with it looking like a very cheap and ugly rug . I have to vacuum it every day or white fuzz is on the black stripes and black fuzz all over the white. It wasn’t cheap but I feel like tossing it!

I bought this to replace a zebra that I had for years that had lost its umph! This rug is glorious and softer than the one I had. I hoped to get a matching gall runner but the one available would be too long. Now I need to find the perfect gold coffee table.

Couldn't imagine it being any better. A very beautiful, substantial rug at a perfect price. Delivered quick!!! The 6' square is perfect for my little home office and actually made it appear larger! I used a rug pad to hold it to the hardwoods and it sits very securely. No curling at the edges even though my rather large desk is right in the middle. The color is a very pleasing cream and black, not stark white. I'm sure this will make it easier to keep it new looking as well. It's very soft under foot. A simple vacuum keeps it spiffy. Early on it shed a bit, as can be expected with natural fibers, but this tapered off pretty soon. It really wasn't of any great trouble. I would absolutely recommend this rug and would purchase from this line with confidence in the future. Just so you'll know, I waited several months to rate this so I would know how it performed over time.

I purchased this rug for my living room. There's very little traffic so I wasn't worried about the reported shedding... until a guest wearing sneakers (rubber soles) walked on it. I had to vacuum as soon as they left but was able to remove the fibers they'd unsettled.As for the color, it's definitely not a true white. (See photo). My couch is also off-white so it matched perfectly.

This is a beautiful, very rich rug. I think it will be somewhat high maintenance as the lighter fibers get onto the black areas, but it's totally worth it. The lighter color is more of a cream tone than white, and the colors are quite striking together. My local flooring store gave me a price of $800.00 plus $65 shipping so my Amazon purchase was a deal!An update - after having this rug in my living room for several months, I finally had to move it into a room with little to no traffic. The upkeep on this rug is CRAZY! My living room is not a high-traffic area, but just the slightest pressure on the rug would cause a huge mess. On average, I was spending about an hour a week vacuuming the rug to keep it looking nice. It is still a looker and I love it...but man, it's tough to keep clean!

Rug shipped quickly and is a soft to the touch. My daughter loves it for her room. I am concerned with how much it sheds, though. It leaves fibers all over the wood floor around it and, as another buyer said, the white threads shed into the black section, making it look like it is full of cat hair. I vacuumed it and it filled my Dyson vacuum to the top with one vacuuming with wool. I have never had that experience before with a rug. The fibers come out so easily and end up all over. I am hoping this does not last forever and will stop after a couple of months of vacuuming. I would not buy this rug again based on the quantity of shedding.
