Sitting down to write my review of this unique film, I have so many mixed emotions, don’t knowweather to give it one star or 5!Marty is a twelve year old boy who has a morbid fascination with all things horror. He draws graphically violent story board like pictures; his room is decorated with horror film things. But, he is in a very strange and awkward situation, his older brother Steve is a serial killer. The film’s exposition is mostly through the perspective of Marty, as he narrates his story in the first person. So we know right away that nothing really bad is going to happen to him.In the beginning of the film, Marty takes his Mom’s rubber gloves, and sneaks into his brother’s room to have another look at the severed head stuffed in a bowling ball bag, in the closet. As Marty narrates, he is consumed with childlike fascination. He carefully removes the bag from the closet, unzips it, and inspects its contents. He is concerned about making sure his brother doesn’t suspect that the bag has been moved. He is more concerned about placing the bag back in the closet exactly as he found it, while wearing his Mom’s gloves then he is about the fact that a person has been murdered.“I hope I don’t end up like this” he says in his narration.People freak out when they see a fake rubber head prop, but he gets to see the ‘real thing’.He knows his brother murdered this person, but he is too young to understand the consequences of violence, the emotions of love and passion. He has a child’s apathy. When a school bully’s head ends up in the bowling ball bag later in the film, and Marty shows it to his sleepover friend, a deep secret has been broken. Steve discovers his brother knows, and the film spirals into ever increasing madness. The film lacks the ‘polish’ of a high budget production, but this actually gives the film a more ‘real’ feel.In this film, the graphic violence is not gratuitous, it makes sense, and the family conflicts and emotions work on many levels, social and psychological, and the story pulls you in.I was wondering, ‘what in the world is going to happen next’ right up until the truly bizarre ending, when I saw something I have never seen before in any American film (outside of porn) and had to do a double-take to find out if what I thought I saw, was really what I saw!If you haven’t seen the film, you will know what I’m talking about when you see it.I have never seen a film quite like this, Marty’s story, told in his own words, resonates a disturbing reality, an invisible reality, that no one wants to think about too deeply, because they may find something that hits too close to home.

Dissappointed
OK, I've been a true, or rather, a "genuine" horror fan for fifty years, and I have a very strong feeling that the people who rated this flick four or five stars must have been paid to do so. Accept for the young actors who play the kid and the killer in this quite disturbing movie, none of the other actors in the film can actually "act." The producers must have hired their family members and friends. The choreography for the fight scenes is totally lousy--the fakest I've seen in awhile. My friends and I threw more realistic punches in the neighborhood plays we put on when we were kids. To me, the biggest assets of the movie are the two young men who played the brothers--they totally save it from ending up as just another really low-budget horror movie. I admit the story line is quite intriguing and kept me wondering where the makers of the movie were actually going with it. Blood and gore is taken to a new level I'd say, and I have to caution everyone--there is very, explicit male nudity as well as demented, sadistic sex scenes. Even with the poor acting and fake fight scenes there's no mistaking that this is a "Horror" movie, and I won't be forgetting it for a long, long time. I really hope the movie doesn't "inspire" anybody.SPOILER ALERT: I previously neglected to mention the main issue I had with this movie because I didn't want to give too much away. However, after further contemplation I feel compelled to add this SPOILER ALERT. In this movie, the "N" word is quite hatefully used twice. The first time is bad enough, but the second time is in an extremely crude, indecent manner. I was so shocked by it, that even though the movie was approaching its climax, my overwhelming anticipation to see what the killer was going to do next was momentarily blacked-out and superseded by an immense curiosity leading me to question the writers' intentions. They could have used any one of a million reasons for the revengeful slaughters. The little kid's narration, the dysfunctional family, the blood, guts and perverted gore could have all been an excellent crescendo perhaps resulting in "The horror movie that changed the world!" If they had just changed one part of the script to read, " ..I just can't stand bullies." Oh well.

original piece of horror
I discovered this film, while funding for their project "Headless", and I must say this is by far one of the most original ideas for a horror film I have ever seen, is it super scary? No, is it super gory? Fairly (I have seen worse), is it different then anything out there? Most definitely.A great serial killer story told by the perspective of a family member. I don't want to say too much about this film, because it is one you should see for yourself, however if you can get past the fact that this isn't a big Hollywood production, you will see much like I did the true brilliance of this film; characters that deal with real problems, that have genuine reactions, a plot that isn't very predictable, and for an indie film some of the best gore sequences that could even pass for the real deal. The extras on the DVD are great, you get to see the uncut versions of the horror films within the film, granted they are short, but for something that is a background piece in the movie it sure is fun to watch. Also, keep your eyes from getting spooned out of your skull, there will be a FULL version of Headless coming! And since it looked great in the movie, this release is bound to be better!

Horror has never looked like this!
Shocking, Bloody, bazaar, The best horror film I have ever seen in my life . The reason this movie really stands out with me is because of the great storyline, it’s not the same ol same ol five people go to a cabin and one by one they’re killed off by a monster or a strangers. I have had it with all those stupid repeat movies and they bore me . This original story within 15 minutes of the movie really pulled me in with the characters. If your stomach can handle it I highly suggest a movie for all theThose who love horror.

A heartwrenching horror drama about bullying, revenge, vicious cycles and the destruction of innocence
If you think you've seen all the horror there is, you may think twice after watching "Found" for the first time.Long story short, this movie chronicles the misadventures of 12-year-old Marty who is a victim of school bullying and, worse yet, the younger brother of a troubled serial killer. With almost nobody to trust at home or school apart from (perhaps) his killer brother Steve, Marty is torn between (in Steve's words) "being the kid that gets picked on or the kid that gets in trouble".This line of dialogue is what made me desperate to watch this movie in the first place. As soon as I stumbled upon its trailer online, I felt a ravenous hunger to get the DVD in my own hands. And, although I knew I'd be in for something mind-blowing, it still exceeded my every expectation. The quality of the writing, acting, cinematography, editing and production design is so fresh that it makes you forget that you're watching a low-budget indie film. With such solid dialogue and passionate performances from all actors (especially the child actors like the leading Gavin Brown), you would easily forget that you were watching a movie. Almost every character (including some of the bullies) felt believable and empathetic like real people. And, by the time you get to the frightfully maddening climax, you may never know who to feel sorry for.If there are two things I can nitpick about this movie, the first is the few digital effects like the static TV transition during the "Headless" segment (that I recognize from Movie Studio Platinum) and the occasionally (but barely noticeable) inconsistent frame rate. Plus, I did say "almost every character felt empathetic". I felt like a few minor characters (like the oafish first school bully) were unjustly one-dimensional. I could've given this film five stars if it weren't for these two flaws. But, apart from that, I call this a solid horror drama through and through.Needless to say, almost everything in this movie, from the nightmarish gore to the psychological torment, is not for the faint of heart. It's enough to make even the most hardcore horror fans (including me) recoil and/or look away. Just as the last line of the movie states, "stuff like this can really warp a person."

UK edition has extra features not on US disk.
I loved it, even though the UK edition is cut by over 90 seconds. Everything positive and negative said about this film is true really but the negatives did not matter to me, I was engrossed. It's made on a micro budget by non professionals and as such they did a damn fine job and I respect it. Having seen both versions (UK version first) I can say the cuts do not harm the film they just make one scene less intense and another less pornographic. You do get behind the scenes documentaries which are not on the USA disk and it really shows the effort that they put into getting the film made and you see them winning awards as a result. More of an art film than you would expect but yes, the amateur element does crack through occasionally. I've knocked a star off for the UK edition being cut because I'm against censorship, I gave the uncut R1 release 5 stars.

Disturbing
'Found'' is a bit of a slow burn but you know from the first line of dialogue that it is going to be a horror movie with a difference. Set in a small town with a seemingly average family and the journey taken by the youngest son as he learns about his brother's secret. Quite unusual as the entire movie is shot from the point of view of the 12 year old. Possibly a bit long at 96 minutes it still has many good performances, particularly by the younger cast members. However the subject material is sometimes on the creepy side (with sexualised violence) considering the age of the lead character. The special effects are practical not CGI which makes for a pleasant (and more realistic) change. The disk says that it's Region 2 locked but I could view it on a Region 4 player. And the sound is an ordinary Dolby Digital stereo track which is nothing special.

I'M GLAD I FOUND THIS!
After just watching this brilliant movie I've had to come and express how much I enjoyed it, very rarely does a film come around that makes you love film again, but this one does ignore everything bad you've heard, by watching this even though, yes it is low budget but that doesn't matter it's been made with a love and a passion for movie making, it won't be everybody's cup of tea there isn't any happy endings here, instead were fed a basket full of in your face realism rarely seen in film today, do you think I love this movie (well just abit) but it'll be our secret. The story follows Marty a young adolescent boy who on the outside does good at school, goes to church and genuinely does what he's told, but on the inside Marty is hurting he's being bullied at school and his home life isn't all it's cracked up to be, but Marty has a secret he keeps to himself untill one night, Marty has discovered his brother's grisly secret he keeps a head in a bowling bag in his closet and Marty even though at first is disgusted by it finds it intriguing and can't help but look each day and each day their is a new head to view, yes Martys brother is a serial killer. I won't spoil it for you guys by going inot every detail of the story but gradually life deteriorates for Marty until everything spirals out of control into a extremely shocking climax. Found is a gem of a movie that has impact apon the viewer I really enjoyed it, in fact I was glued, trust me watch this film it's bloody brilliant!

It's kinda like if Jeffrey Dahmer lived with his parents and had a younger brother.
Bad- The audio is really bad, like it was recorded through a phone. The child actors (apart from the main kid) are awful.Good- Nice to see VHS' again. The heads look good. The characters are very creepy.Look past some of the bad parts and there is a very good horror film underneath. It's actually kind of a believable story if you are familiar with serial killers like Jeffery Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy which makes this film extra horrifying.
