Surviving the loss of a loved one, this book will help you
No one has ever lived who hasn't experienced death. It's part of the human condition. But how we deal with it can affect us in profound ways that we probably won't understand until it happens to us. This is the book I wish I'd had when I went through the death of my father, my grandparents, my marriage, and a prolonged, devastating illness of one of my children. Jessica's honest expression of emotions, fears, depression, panic attacks, and preoccupation with negative thinking validates what's within all of us--why me, why now, why mom, why dad, why -- whoever it is we are grieving for. But "Breathing on Purpose" resssures us there is hope. Jessica shares her heart and the healing which did eventually come, and how she came to a greater understanding of herself and God's incredible love and purpose in it all.I found myself throughout the book relating on many levels. And two friends came to mind who are grieving for loved ones. I am sending them a copy of this comforting, reassuring, and honest look at surviving the death of a loved one. "Breathing on Purpose" is the best book I have seen on this subject, and if you are grieving, this book will help you through the process. Or bring comfort to a friend who is hurting. Biblically-based with many Scripture references, "Breathing on Purpose" will bring encouragement, hope, and healing to anyone dealing with the death or loss of a loved one.

An honest look at grief and how to survive it
If you think you are alone in the gut-wrenching pain of grief, this book is for you. Author Jessica Zondervan takes the reader on a personal journey through her pain of losing both parents in two years. There are "clinical" books out there on the process of grieving, but this author takes you through each step of her own experience in an honest and candid fashion. At times, the pain of loss is made worse by others, at times it is made worse by her own negative thoughts. But in the end, she realizes that surviving these losses is a choice that she must make by leaning upon God, the Bible, and other loved ones who reach out to her with wise counsel. A must-read for anyone lost in the despair and depression of grief.

Breathing on Purpose
I knew Jessica's parents both personal and knowing the tragedy what this family had to go through and how she was able to go on was unbelievable for such a young lady. But having her faith, her own courage and then to put it in a book was so wonderful for those us to read.Never a year goes by do I not stop look at the clock and think of her parents of the day they went to Heaven 2 years apart to join each other again. They loved each other so much. What a wonderful book, Jess your parents are proud.

Dealing with the death of a loved one
This book is a rather honest memoir of how this author has dealt with the death of her mom and two years later the death of her dad. She was only 23 yrs. old when her mom died and 25 when her father died. Her wedding was a month after the death of her mom. She went through with the wedding because she knew that's what her mom would have wanted. At such a young age she has been able to work through the hurt and devastation of her parents death. In addition, she has dealt with the death of others as well. I think this is an amazing book about how she worked through those difficult times. She describes the difficulty of dealing with death. I would recommend this book to anyone who has gone through the loss of a loved one. I would also recommend this book to anyone interested in how one deals with the death of a loved one. I can't imagine going through this at such a young age. I would highly recommend this book.
