Worked well in helping reduce the amount of dead thatch on my St Augustine grass lawn. They wear a little faster than I like, so it would be nicer if they were a bit longer or made a little tougher.

Great product - and maybe it's a problem with my mower because I don't see anyone else mentioning it - but the trimmers at the end of the blade fall off no matter how tightly I secure them. Anyone else have this problem?

Tines fly off within a few minutes. If you are buying this as aerators, dethatcher or to rake up leaves, look elsewhere.

For what it is, thick string trimmer cord cut into small pieces, it's expensive. Depending on the height of the lawn mower, you'll have to replace them per session. If you're Dethatching at the lowest height, it's expected to lose them quickly, whether it chips away or they just disappear. I've learned that i would have to zip tie it down to get the most of it. That's an additional expenses and additional efforts, I think this item should be sold for a lower price and or add zip ties with the packaging. Overall, it does the job. Grass grows, grass is green, layers of thatch is gone, allowing for new grass to germinate.... it works. Cheapest alternative way to Dethatch without having to hiring anybody or having to buy a Dethatcher.

I was looking at purchasing a dethatcher for my lawn but instead bought a replacement blade that used this product. It was easy to install and lasted all last summer

I have not used the replacement tines yet, but the original tines did a decent job picking up tree needles and seeds.Con: the Arnold rake should have curved ends like my TORO blade to throw the tree seeds right into the mower bag.
