This is a nice looking case but the walls would be a lot stronger if the aluminum were corrugated or embossed with a pattern to help with rigidity. Additionally, the latches do not inspire confidence.

I will give this product a rating of 4 not because it is a great product, but because it is great for what it is. Do not expect anything too special.I needed an opaque, hard-sided case greater than 18" long but less than 6.5" wide at a reasonable price. Honestly, I just wanted some under-the-bed storage for some more private materials in case I had house guests. I searched for months and I couldn't find anything of the appropriate size that wasn't clear plastic. I finally found this. The price was OK, the fit under the bed is perfect and it does exactly what I wanted it to do. It is just enough to keep something out of sight and out of mind. It is just enough to keep honest people honest.The aluminum siding is very thin. The locks are among the cheapest I've ever seen. I think the little padlocks that used to come in eggs from those coin-operated toy machines outside grocers were better locks. This case is useless for security and is NOT durable enough for serious travel or office use.It is lined with a thin (2mm ish) layer of cheap foam -- just enough to keep the aluminum siding from rattling or scratching the contents (but not anywhere near enough for padding). There is an attachment with a couple pockets and pen slots Velcroed into the top of the case which can easily be removed if desired. The latches work pretty well if you aren't rough with them, but the locks are worthless. This is great for little things like a game box, spare computer cables, scrapbook storage, porn stashes, etc. It might even work as a hand-carried overnight bag, but it is NOT durable enough for packing in a car or checking on a plane, stuffing full or tossing around at the office. I would NOT recommend storing anything dangerous in it, since it is easily broken into. It is a basic cheap metal box with a couple of latches, which is exactly what I wanted.If you have similar needs, this is a good product. If not, you can find slightly smaller briefcases of much better quality in the same price range.

A sticker of thin AL metal on the outside of fiber board.It is sold as Aluminum, and saying that I expect a thin, but solid aluminum wall.Product is not as advertised, fine for regular briefcase use.
