Crimp not solder terminal
I liked using this product for my spindle encoder cable. It made short work of building the cable.

This is just not high quality
The male D-Sub connector should have built in threaded area for female to attach via a screw. This has a stamped piece of metal that does not appear to be able to be a permanent part; it is like a nut. The pins are not the type that use a four-pin crimper but instead has just a thin metal to be bent over the conductor and also the insulation.
