Bought this for backcountry camping trips due to its versatility, therefore this review is focused on that specific use.Not the smallest nor UL, however totally worth the compromise due to its multi-function. All the other "camping" utensils we've used are either plastic, all metal, or silicone lined plastic.The plastic compact utensils have not stood up to cooking over an open fire: i.e. plastic folding tongs melted on day 2 from contact with the hot pan.Metal heats up too quickly, burns your hands & is heavier.Unlike silicone lined utensils, this silicone does not melt at all. This has been an issue when cooking over a blazing fire with metal pans. The silicone lining started distorting after half a dozen uses & eventually melted to the point of creating sharp edges.These tongs snap apart to give you spoon options for stirring/mixing. Plus, the handles are long so you can stir/flip without taking the pot/pan off the fire.When you're finished cooking, take apart the tongs & you have a spoon + a spork to use as utensils.Pros:Full silicone - doesn't melt or distortLonger handlePlastic handle - no worries of burning your handsRelatively lightweight - unless you're counting ouncesCompact enough to slide along the side of your pack4 (5?) in 1: tongs, spoon, slotted spoon, 2 eating utensilsCons:Not ultra lightweightBulkier than most backcountry camping utensilsPlastic handle - melting potential if you're carelessSummary: highly recommend. I wanted salad tongs that were not plastic so I ordered these. They are sturdy and can be separated or connected. I'm very pleased with them.

I got this for my elderly mom to serve salads but she loves it so much that she uses it for everything! From cooking with non-stick pans, to tossing and serving salads, to picking glass containers off of high shelves, this tool is multi functional, practical and safe for delicate surfaces! I’m going to get one for everyone on my Xmas list this year!

These are fantastic! I was so tired of getting pinched by other metal tongs. The design of these tongs eliminated the pinches and drops. They fit together and stay together as you use them. Also, great to use once you separate them. Great for pasta and serving salads. I highly recommend this and will be ordering more for Christmas presents.

We travel in a motor home, and we needed a multi-purpose utensil. If the two pieces are connected, they work as salad tongs. Or they can be separated and use them for different purposes, and they are heat resistant. And they take up very little space. These food tongs seem to be made well.

I got a set of these 2-piece tongs for my wife for Christmas. She likes them enough to get another set to have in back-up. They are used frequently and are holding up well. After 6 months, they still look pretty much like they did when they were new. The silicone is pliable but firm. Each piece can function as a scraper. But I don't recommend buying these if that is your primary interest/purpose. They don't have a straight edge. So, even though they can function as a scraper, they are not the most well-adapted tool for that purpose.

These rock! Well made, easy to take apart and put together, exactly what I was looking for!

It is so useful. I can use it for cooking and holding pasta, stir frying, as salad tongs, and more. The simple mechanism allows easy cleaning. I love this product.
