I got this set for the novelty size while teaching a preteen to crochet. She was struggling with smaller hooks so I bought the biggest set I could find. Its so chunky. The only down side is that the sides of the hooks aren't smooth. Its like a poured resin and there are wrinkles from a plastic liner or something. Overall the set is great for those statement projects made with lots of strands of yarn or the roving yarns. The yarn needles are great. The stitch markers work well. If you need huge hooks for a single project, this is a great option. If you regularly need huge hooks, I would invest in a set that feels better in the hand. Its not a bad feeling, but they aren't light and the ridges can be distracting if you are sensitive to that sort of thing. Most of my huge yarn projects are one off things, so this is adequate for my needs.

Glad I purchased this product! Hooks- No rough edges to sand down, doesn't snag yarn. Great for Bernat blanket yarn, especially if using more than one strand in the stitches. Hooks came in a ziplock bag that is perfect size for storage so I don't have to worry about storing or losing them. * It arrived next day as stated. * *Fast delivery * Important when you start a project & realize maybe you need a bigger hook (or your blanket becomes a rug because the stitches are too tight). 😉 Bonus needles are not plastic, they are metal. Bonus Stitch markers are in its own little ziplock bag.

The hooks are a good quality, look like picture and if you can't tell have a taper neck. They are made of a resin and have a slightly hefty weight compared to the plastic ones by Boye, only by a fraction of an ounce but it may make a difference if I did a LOT of chunky work, and since they are standard length with that extra heft it might affect balance and comfort, but for occasional use should be fine. I would have preferred a hollow handle but not a deal breaker. Some of the hooks had rough spots at the hook end, but a few swipes with an emery board and they are fine. The sizes are labeled in black print on ends in mm. The little bonus accessories are same quality you get at hobby store, I was surprised to get hooked needles, they are difficult to find and I'll definitely be using. Conclusion- good buy for $10.

I was intimidated by the poor reviews but I guess I’m not having any problem whatsoever with this order. The crochets are absolutely adorable, perfectly fit and long (they look short and chubby in the photo here) and I have big hands so that was a concern. All the items are perfect and for the price this is a great deal. The items are smooth and well made. Nothing is broken or missing. Love my kit.

I had been looking for a set of large gauge hooks for a while but often the plastic is cheap, so the yarn doesn't slide over the hook easily. These are not that. They're a solid resin-like material that isn't too heavy but is also very sturdy and allows the yarn to easily slide over the hook. The notch is also a good shape, not too deep, but can easily hold the appropriate yarn thickness. I used the 18mm to crochet two strands together, where each strand was a chain made of worsted weight yarn and it was plenty big enough. They're also so cute with the transparent resin and gold flecks! Highly recommend.

These crochet hooks are very sturdy. The counters are handy. Highly recommend.

Upon receiving my set, I noticed that one hook was broken - I was afraid that I would have to return the entire set in order to get a replacement for 1 hook, but I didn't...I was not only sent a replacement for the broken hook, but an entire 2nd set!!! The quality of the items in this set is definitely very good for the money spent - just be very careful not to drop the hooks onto hard surfaces.

This set is ok. I think the smaller sizes in this set are good but I bought it specifically for the 25mm hook and it is so short. It hurts my hand when I work because the size of the yarn leaves very little room for you to hold onto.

Great for crocheting with strips of cotton for rugs etc. Love the glide.
