The Ideal
So I was very dubious about this bag. It’s been in my wish list for 6 months, and I just wasn’t sure on an online buy for something of such professional importance. I am a photographer, often working on locations and I’ve never been inclined to get a camera bag, as I can’t trust it as much as holding it myself. But there comes a time when you’ve got too much equipment and need something decent and trustworthy to protect it, especially on location shoots. As far as I can tell, this is it. It doesn’t look like a camera bag, at all, which was so important as a young female photographer, walking alone back from photoshoots there is a fear that someone will take that camera! The bag looks like a stylish urban backpack, there is some genuine leather (that I can tell) and the colours are really gorgeous. It arrived a little misshapen, but after a few hours it looks completely normal. The kind of foam box that the camera sits in is a bit confusing, I ended up taking it all out and readjusting, wrapping the waterproof casing back around it and taking out most of the inserts. I have a Nikon D4s which is larger than the average camera, and it fits it perfectly alongside two lenses (I have no need for more). The battery charger fits comfortably on top of the box, and there are handy pockets for your cards, card readers, etc. I am generally a lightweight when it comes to equipment, so I don’t know how well this would work for someone with loads of lenses/cameras but reading other reviews, it appears the bag can hold pretty much anything. The slot to take the camera out is well concealed and the padding appears perfectly safe to store expensive equipment within. The general look of the bag is gorgeous, I bought the green colour and it looks like a beautiful urban backpack you’d find in editorial adventure images. The straps are wide, well padded and very comfortable (even with the many back/shoulder issues that come with being a photographer!) The laptop pocket is perfect, and will fit my 14” with no issue. Overall I’m really impressed, it’s a beautiful, professional backpack of high quality. Hoping it will pass the test of time as exceedingly.

I love it
I'm an amateur/hobbyist photographer, I don't have a huge amount of kit so didn't want something massive, nor did I want one of those fancy black rucksacks with all the florescent trim, I like my stuff to look traditional and as soon as I saw this I'd placed the order without even fully reading the descriptionI wasn't disappointed. The waxed canvas is more than waterproof enough for a shower out in the hills although I wouldn't trust it in driving rain. On a normal photography outing I carry a DSLR, three lenses (wide angle 10 - 20mm, normal 19 - 55mm, macro) and a stupid number of filters, all this fits in the front pocket of the rucksack while leaving the top section empty, this is large enough for sandwiches and a water bottle. Another thing I can't get over how well it works is the inside being orange, at first it sounds silly but a bright colored lining makes all the difference when you drop that SD card into the depths of your bag and suddenly it's real easy to spot. Other than that, the bag is well made, the zips are smooth and it's comfortable to wear. I'll have to wait and see how well it lasts. There's still one or two issues, no good thing is perfect. Firstly I haven't used the laptop sleeve but I can imagine that once the front pocket is packed with lenses it would be quite hard to slide a laptop in down the back. Secondly the bag has no dedicated tripod carrier, I have a light aluminum manfrotto that I take out most times, one leg can be slotted down the compression straps on the side but it didn't work well enough for me so I stitched a pocket on the side to fit the tripod leg to provide extra support and stop it bouncing around when I walk, that seems to work fine. Finally waxed canvas is a weighty fabric and makes the pack slightly heavier than it's competitors, although that's a small price to pay for the retro look of the materialHowever these are things I can certainly live with, It's the most awesome camera equipment bag I've ever had and, to conclude, I LOVE IT!!!
