Impressive — and the killer feature isn't even the stats
I've been experimenting with small tweaks to my swing and grip, and I found that taking videos of myself at the driving range was very helpful in identifying issues that I needed to address. I was curious how these adjustments to my technique might affect swing speed, ball speed, etc., and that's what led me to the Mevo. I did quite a bit of research on the product, comparing it to others like the Swing Caddie. The feature that sold me on the Mevo was the ability to capture video with an overlay of stats, and that has turned out to be the killer feature for me. It automatically captures and trims video snippets of each individual swing, then saves it to your device. I no longer need to scrub through 30 minutes of video, zooming in to try and figure out which club I was using, and searching for those one or two swings where I felt like things went right (or wrong). Now, I get one video per swing, with a (configurable) number of seconds before and after the swing. I can use the app to scroll through a table of swings for a session, with each row identifying the club, carry, smash factor, etc. This allows me to quickly review and assess the results of a session, and makes it easy to go back and see how I've improved over time. I'm very impressed with this product. It's reasonably accurate, and the app and device are much more reliable than I anticipated. It only takes me about a minute to get it set up. Then, other than telling the app when I change clubs, or stopping occasionally to review the video of the previous swing, I don't have to fiddle with it at all. I just focus on my swing, then go home and review the results.

Making a difference in my game.
I purchased the Mevo about two weeks ago and have since used it twice on the range off turf and twice from my back porch off of a mat. As a point of reference, I am a senior golfer (68) with a 3.1 handicap. My average drive is around 230. So far I have been very pleased with the product (other than I feel it is overpriced). To date, I have spent most of my practice time with my wedges (58, 54, 50, and 46). Dialing in these clubs was the main reason I purchased the Mevo, seconded by a desire to get a little more clubhead speed with my driver. My practice time with the Mevo and my wedges has been very productive. I'm fortunate to have a large pasture behind my back porch allowing me hit and recover good balls. I consider using these balls is a much fairer test of the Mevo's numbers than what it measures with well-worn range balls. I used a range finder to verify the carry distance as measured by the Mevo and found it very accurate with no more than a yard or two error across all four wedges. Since I have not used a launch monitor before to any great extent I don't really have a way to evaluate the accuracy of the other measured parameters. However, I was able to get good correlation between my "feel" on a shot compared to the measurement. This was particularly true on clubhead speed versus carry and smash factor. My wedges show wear a little towards the toes of the club which I have suspected is costing me distance and consistency. As I practiced with the Mevo, I worked to hit the ball closer to the center and saw definitive improvement in carry, ball speed, and smash factor without a change in clubhead speed. In other words, I was hitting the ball closer to the sweet spot of the club and getting better results without having to "muscle" the shot. I have worked with the longer clubs some and found the software excellent regarding video playback (I use the data mode only on my wedges). I'll start working more with the driver soon and will try to update this review then. My final comment is that, while I am very happy with the product, I just wish it was not so expensive. I'm no marketing guy but I have to believe that getting this product more reasonably priced would result in many, many more sales given its usefulness to golfers of all abilities.

Good value and quick way to track your data.
Overall excellent data and connects easily with the online app. However for indoor use, it has a harder time tracking faster shots. Anything with lower trajectory and higher speed, it will only read it 50 percent of the time. Now given my screen is only 8 ft from the ball, perhaps too close for the device to track. Overall 4 stars.

Great diagnostic tool at a twentieth of the price
The Mevo provides you key information to help you better hit a golf ball. It measures club head speed, ball speed, ball rotation speed, and launch angle. It calculates smash factor, carry distance, and total distance. I’ve taken the Mevo onto the golf course and hit shots during a practice round to measure its accuracy, and have found it to be within a few yards of the estimated distance. This tells me that the ball rotation and club head speed must be pretty close. The devise is small. It fits into my pocket, albeit with a bulge. It’s very transportable. It’s easy to set up. It syncs with my iPhone 7 quickly. I’ve tried my iPad as well, but unfortunately although it syncs, it didn’t register any swings, but that could have been operator error (it was late at night, and there may have been intoxicants involved). Overall, I’m very pleased with the gadget. Now maybe I’ll be able to vanquish my friends. They’ll never know what hit them!

Mevo Is the BOMB!
After a lot of research I decided on the portability of the Mevo, the ability to listen to results through my AirPods and check results on my Watch were game changers over more expensive devices with similar or reasonable accuracy. The data it produces so that I can correlate all my club distances and name sessions so I can isolate 3/4 swings or half swings so my different club yardages are known by average and standard deviation is an added bonus. Also the video clipping is flawless and can be set to start just before you start your swing and detect impact and stop just after you complete your swing. The ability to is the rear camera (slo-mo) as well as the front camera on the iPhone is nice too. In my first sessions I detected an early release in my swing and started on correcting that and have already seen +20 yds on club distances now that I am correcting this swing flaw. If you are serious about improving your game this will be you friend in doing so.

Not Accurate - Don't Rely On Results
(I'm a 3 hcp at a high end club in the southwest...real review...an end user) Very disappointed in the accuracy of the data especially with mid irons to driver. Just got off the range with our head pro comparing the Mevo to the Foresight Sports GC Quad ($18k launch monitor) on an outdoor range with ProV1 balls. This was a real test with dozens of shots. Both the pro and I hit balls. My club head speed with Driver is 100-104. His is 110-115. We put the metallic dots on all Mevo shots. We turned off and removed the GC Quad when using the Mevo to avoid interference. Setup was perfect as we measured the distance behind the ball. App was configured perfectly (we even tried adjusting things and it didn't matter - altitude, distance to ball, etc.). RESULTS: The Mevo was consistently 15-20 yards less than the real results. Spin all over the board and not accurate even with the stickers and properly setup. Launch angle was inaccurately too high by 1-2 degrees. For the pro, his driver carry was 20-25 yards less than real results. Same inconsistencies with spin and launch. Hitting 7 irons were a bit more accurate but still very off 5-10 yards consistently. Overall, I'm bummed. I thought this would be an affordable and mostly accurate tool for working my game. It's fun to see the results after every shot. But to no know that the data isn't right defeats the purpose. Do I hit a 7 iron 163 or 172? That's a big deal to be that far off. I would not recommend this product (and I rarely say that about a product).

Doesn't read every shot, can't recommend
From a value perspective, you can't compare against other units. This one is simply too cheap. HOWEVER, even after updating firmware, app, testing with different phones, etc. this only read 1 out 4 shots. It is quite frustrating to get into a groove, especially after adjusting based on previous readings, only for the unit to not read anything. There's no way I can recommend with such a high misread %. The saving grace is that the web app and export to .csv functionality is great for establishing rudimentary baselines. If this unit simply did it's job and READ every shot, I wouldn't have to consider upgrading after less than a year of usage. A few new personal launch monitors have been released so I think I'll go with the Rapsodo MLM2PRO now that it's available for Android.

Works as advertised if set up properly and easy to do
I had tried a couple other Doppler ball trackers and they proved to be inconsistent often giving me obviously incorrect numbers when I needed it most. For example every time I hit a great shot I thought would get me another 10 to 50 yards on my driver (I average 185 to 190 carry) would give me a 321 yard carry. Obviously an error which I would get in 1 out of 4 or 5 shots! It was as if it just would not give a value in the 200 to 300 yard range. Anyway, the Mevo works great only failing to register a shot if it was an obviously very bad shot, i.e miss hit. The app that you download also works perfectly on my iPad. Great value for the money.

Very chuffed with impact on range practice
Tested speeds, spin, carry etc against more expensive units = same numbers across range of clubs. Highest value has been with the short irons 8 through to 58deg wedges: confidence in how to produce desired result
