Makemusic Finale 26 Academic Edition Music Notation Software Download Card

Doesn’t Even work with my computer. And when I go for technical support I have to sign up for a service to get tech-support. This ridiculous very sad

I have an older version of Finale and also the newest version. I like both. I purchased it from Sweetwater.com though, so there IS tech support if needed. I had problems getting it to load on one of my computers, so I had to call Sweetwater to get help. No problem...free tech support. Got me up and running in no time.

I didn't purchase this software from Amazon, but I would like to tell the potential buyer that I have this software, and it has major functionality problems. Sound playback doesn't work at all, and the "Expression Tool" is sometimes not there when you click on it. Finale recently offered an update, but even after installing that, the sound and Expression Tool still do not work. I recommend their "Printmusic" program as an alternative.

The older versions were great. The current version is full of bugs. The online manual is a nightmare to try to read or find a way to solve your problem. A high school English teacher would grade the manual a big fat F because the writing is so poor and disorganized. They have no phone support either. Their online chat system is too slow, and the tech doesn't make good suggestions. I couldn't even get the MIDI up and running on this version. I tried all kinds of things. Then I downloaded a competitor's software. The MIDI worked immediately. The funny thing was that once the tech knew he was in over his head, he just stopped answering our email inquiries.

I purchased an earlier versions of this product through Amazon in April of 2014. It was fine for five years. Suddenly I have a problem in that there is no longer sound as I enter notes. Could it be a simple matter that I accidently did something to turn the sound off? Nothing in the owner manual says anything shows anything about this. Their 800 phone number refers you to their internet site, which tells you they support only for products currently available. So there's no way to get through to them and I guess that, after just five years, I'm stuck.
