Everything you could want!
I didn't know how to use a scroll saw when I made this purchase, but I wanted to get the finished results of a scroll saw project. I did some research and purchased this machine because it had great reviews and was a reasonable price. This is, quite literally, one of the best purchases I have ever made. For months now I have spent weekends using the saw and producing projects that I love. I have had to learn about blades in order to use the machine, but that's it. It's so easy to use and super fun! Some opinions about other reviews:Vibration: I understand what people are saying about vibration, however, there are holes in the machine to screw it down to a work bench or mobile scroll saw stand if necessary. That being said, I only use mine at medium speed and there is no vibration at all. Additionally, there is a moveable arm right next to the blade of the unit that allows adjustments for the height of the wood. Keeping this flush against your product is very helpful for stability.Light: I agree, the light isn't very helpful. If it was mounted in a way so it could swing to the left or right side and if it was a bit longer it would be awesome!!! Sadly, it's not the case and I don't use it.Blower/vacuum tube: Yeah, I am not sure if mine came bent or if that's how it is supposed to look, regardless, it's also a pointless attachment.ShopVac hookup: Works great! Honestly though, unless you are working in a completely clean environment or cutting MDF (or other heavy sawdust wood) It's not needed. Just tip the machine forward when you finish your project and clean up saw dust from there.Blade type: Pin and pinless can be used with this machine. Both work great!I love this thing. I would say buy it if you are at all thinking about it and enjoy! You will have to have some patience at the beginning to learn how to cut straight, but it is pretty much a sewing machine that cuts wood. Just take your time, dedicate yourself and soon you too can be a scroll saw pro. Enjoy!!!

Surprisingly nice little scroll saw for the price
I'm a little leery of cheap tools but I bought this one because I had some projects coming up that would take way too much time with a handsaw but were too intricate for our other power saws. I must say I'm pretty happy with it.ProsIt's sturdy metal where it counts, with a fairly wide table and adequately deep throat for what I'm doing (patterned wood/metal/micarta knife handle material). The ability to swap the blade direction 90 degrees gives you the ability to cut pieces too long for the throat, and doing that also gives me more room to clamp on a fence if I need to make straight cuts (although I'd probably do that on the bandsaw). The hold-downs work well to keep the material in place as I'm sawing and rotating it, and the flexible light does a good job of illuminating the cutting area. It also uses either pinned or pinless blades, which is nice when the local hardware store is out of one or the other. It has a sizeable opening for a shopvac or dust collection hose that is easy to place and remove, and a blower to move dust away from the cut. We added a separate power switch that automagically turns on our little shopvac when the saw is powered on. The setup works pretty well to give me almost dust-free cutting. Since the saw is lightweight enough to bring it to the work, I can actually set up in a living space without worrying about covering everything in sawdust.ConsVery minor: The safety plug in the power switch is easy to lose when you pull it out. We drilled a small hole and attached a lanyard so that we can hang it up and keep it safe.Irritating: There is a convenient little storage box attached to the side of the base housing, intended for spare blades and other small replaceable parts. That's a nice addition...but the box must be emptied and removed in order to get to some critical parts of the saw.Bigger issue: The motor is a bit weak; I stacked two quarter-inch thick pieces of dense, exotic wood (padauk and African Blackwood, total of 1/2 inch) and it nearly overwhelmed the saw. The 3921 may have the physical dimensions to cut two inches thick, but if I planned to do that repeatedly I'd buy a more heavy-duty machine with a more powerful motor. All told, though, this saw is definitely worth the price. If I ever get to the point that I'm working on larger, thicker projects I'll upgrade to a more professional saw, but right now this one is doing everything I need.

Never disappointed by Wen products
1st I am a hobbiest and this is my 1st scroll sawI have many Wen tools and they have never disappointed.Pros: Plenty of power, quiet, accepts pinned and non pinned, good quality for the price.Cons: Non pinned blade addapteres are difficult to install blades then onto machine until you get the hang of it, dust blower is useless.

Good saw for beginner
I'm working with small pieces about the size of a quarter. The blade stays tight but the foot clamp loosens with vibration. Needs frequent re-tightening. The blades included were of so-so quality. The pinned blades are easy to replace. Will purchase better quality blades going forward. I use this for about 80% of my cuts and take tiny areas out with a rotary cutting tool. This saw is far better, quicker and cleaner than my coping saw. Happy with purchase.
