I simply got tired of moving chairs around to reach into top shelves and cupboards. We do have a step-stool, but it's mostly rusty and covered in paint. In looking over the products available, this 3-Step Folding Ladder seemed to be the most sturdy - and in fact it is, and opens and closes so easily. When you open it, however, you have to pay attention to the top step, and make sure it goes all the way back. When I used it for the first time or two, I noticed that the top step moved slightly forward and back. When I opened it and closed it a couple times, I can see that the top step needed to be secured in place - a bit more than just opening it and begin to step up. With this done, the top step is quite secure. It works great, and most importantly, you feel secure standing on the top step, and putting a star on the tree.

Great ladder and is very sturdy. The steps are large and covered with rubber grip. Since it is heavy duty it is not lightweight, but that's ok. I rather it be heavier and hold up. This thing is built to last forever. It folds completely flat, which is great because we travel with it.

I love this ladder and wish I'd bought it ages ago. It is sturdy and easy to open and close, and is slim and compact when folded. I especially like the bar at the top for support when climbing up and down. This item has some heft to it, because it's all metal and not flimsy plastic. But just as a forewarning, this could be an issue for anyone who has difficulty managing a weightier item, although the tradeoff is in having something so stable and reliable.

This is a great stool if you want to feel safe while climbing up to cabinets. I just keep forgetting the to open it there is a little lever in front of the first step. Once you get this down you will love it ! folds up easy and is a little heavier than I'm use to but I love the safety features.

I weight 220 pounds and this ladder felt very sturdy to me. It is quite heavy for a portable three step ladder in my opinion.

This a great step ladder. The steps are extra wide so you really feel secure as you're stepping up and down. The back is shaped so that you can also sit on the top step. It is heavier than I expected but it is a step ladder, not a step stool. It has a locking mechanism on the top step to make sure it doesn't fold up on you. Worth the money to me!

I love this item! I have residual balance issues from spinal surgery, and I sometimes need to use a cane. I put this item to use within five minutes of opening up the box. It's wide enough for me to comfortably stand on it, plus it gets me high enough to change out lightbulbs in ceiling fixtures. I love the handrail at the top of the unit. I'm a big guy, and I also felt this unit was sturdy and solid. Also folds quite easily, and once folded, takes up little room. What an improvement over using folding chairs to change lightbulbs!!

Very pleased with this choice. Extremely functional. Very sturdy and supportive. I can reach everything in my apartment with the help of this ladder. Because of my bad back and neck, I was worried that it would be too heavy for me, but it is not. I can move it around with ease. I do make sure that I grip it with both hands and carry it in front of me, because of my injuries. However, the ladder is amazingly light.
