Press the button at the bottom of the unit to turn on the infrared LED. 2. Gently press the skin with your hands and slowly move the device from side to side. The vein will appear as a shade or a dark line and appear at the periphery of the red glow around the device. Note: The device should be in contact with the skin when veins are searched. Removing light from skin shows nothing! 3. Once the vein (shadow/dark line) is found, reposition the IR light around the area for optimal venous vision. If the vein is more superficial to the surface, it may be necessary to move the light source further away because it may be too bright and cover the vein. It is better to follow the trajectory of the vein so that it has full visual size and orientation. Note: It is better to find a vein that follows a straight path.
