Red Heart E305.4975 Ombre Yarn, Sweet Treat

Used this to crochet a ombre beanie. I love the transition between colors, it’s literal so smooth it’s impossible to pinpoint exactly where a shade starts or ends. Yarn is soft and relatively easy to work with but if all skeins are like the one I got I wouldn’t recommend this to beginners or fast workers. I constantly had to twirl the yarn around my finger as the individual threads would come loose and fall parallel to each other. I also found numerous badly frayed sections that I had to cut out , one section was atleast 4 inches of big fluffy mess . Definitely slowed me down more but this was a casual project. There are a few knots in the yarn too but I didnt mind since i found them tight. I don’t think I’d work on a large project with this because of the workarounds required to get it looking good but I’ll continue to make smaller items with it

I crocheted a vest using this yarn and te color and texture look great. I am not an expert by any means and I did had to start over a few times, this yarn tolerated the abuse I gave it.

This yarn is just fine except that it is a little rough compared to other Red Heart Ombre yarns. I would not call it soft, it feels more like the Red Heart Stripes line.It doesn't split easily and like the other ombres there are some areas where the yarn is much thicker and feels matted while other areas are quite thin. For what I'm making that doesn't make a difference, it just feels strange to be crocheting a chain and having it be much thicker. For pineapple stitch it would be problematic but for a granny square, not at all.

It does the job but if you are looking for something softer and easier to you there are better yarns out there. After a wash on the delicate cycle and air dry, I must say it rendered beautiful result. I would use the Red Heart soft for a baby blanket.

Though I know red heart has to be washed before it becomes soft, it is absolutely not soft at all at this moment before washing. Incredible value for the money, I only used two skiens instead of the three I ordered because it is the jumbo size and jad extra yards! Definitely easy to use and doesn't separate or split at all.The ombre looks amazing with c2c!

Not much you can say, product arrived is as hoped, nice n wooly, would have been 5⭐ but for extended wait on delivery and was delivered later than delivery date supplied.Happy days

Loved the colour and it did crochet well but the yarn was a bit harsh to the feel . Hopefully it might soften after being washed.
