Nice addition to my monopod/hiking staff
My "stick" serves as a cane, hiking staff, monopod and self-defense aid. I was looking to add a little heft to the kneecap whacking end and this knob is perfect for that. Plus it looks like it was made to fit my stick. Solid aluminum, it adds some heft, but not too much. Don't buy it for the compass tho.BTW, there is some confusion in other reviews about the screw sizes. The knob is threaded for a 3/8 inch mount and it comes with a 1/4 inch insert that is removable so both standard tripod mount sizes are accommodated.

Good and solid
I bought this as a thing to protect the camera screw on my walking stick with no particular expectations. It is solid and comfortable. The compass is nice, but the over all shape added to the comfort to my walking stick.

AFVO trekking pole knob
Very nice, affordable replacement knob for monopod, or camera-ready trekking poles.I bought this to replace the wooden trekking pole knob on a Leki Sierra photo trekking pole.I had inadvertently left my Leki pole at a campsite, and when I went to pick it up at the camp office, I realised someone had gotten Tag or Axe body spray all over it, and I cannot get that horrible stink out of the wood knob (the rest of the pole materials cleaned up well).Leki charge an exorbitant amount for a proper replacement, so I opted for this one.It is slightly smaller than the original wooden Leki knob, and sits a bit raised from the camera mount, where the original sat flush to it. But, this AFVO knob is very solid, machined very smoothly, and the compass is comfortably flush with the contour of the aluminum. My compass actually works, and appears reasonably accurate. This trekking pole knob comes with a 3/8-16 UNC thread to 1/4-20 UNC adapter. Also included was a drawstring felt bag, for whatever reason you'd need a wee felt bag.It is noticeably heavier than my old wooden handle, but that's to be expected with the switch to a metal knob.Attached images show the AFVO trekking pole knob on my Leki pole, where it fits nicely; On my Velbon monopod, where it is rather awkwardly tiny and inconvenient; The knob with its thread adapter; and a comparison between the AFVO knob, and the original Leki wooden knob.Overall, I am very pleased, and should this one fail for any reason, I'd certainly pick up another.

Perfect
Very well made, not light weight. Nice machining and finish. Compass works nice and steady. Good job! Thanks. Looks great on top of my custom made hiking stick.

Fit my old walking stick
It’s a knob. It’s comfortable. It screws into the camera attachment screw on my old walking stick. That’s what I needed. That’s what I got.The bonus here is the (tiny) compass, which may or may not ever be used.Oh, and it’s cheap, another bonus I suppose.

Did not include the hardware listed but the item itself seems to be good
The item itself seems fine but there was no hardware included

Makes a great handle for atop my monopod.
Handle works great, but the built in compass is cheap and you can't rely on it for directions. It looks nice though.

Functional but heavy
I like these despite their weight. Bought 2 and have them on my Trax poles. Can never have enough compasses.

It does what it claims
Not a must have but very useful for those times when I use a monopod as a walking stick.

Very solid ,weĺl made, very adjustable. A little heavier and bulkier than ideal, but overall a winner.
