Seloc Mercury Outboards, Repair Manual, 1965-89 (Seloc Publications Marine Manuals)

This is a used book but it is complete and as described by the seller. A few dog eared pages does not make it any less valuable to me. This book is out of print and only available from N.O.S. ( New Old Stock) or used book sellers. My local marine dealer could not get one to sell to me. Since it is a shop manual it will likely have a few more blemishes before it is retired.

I purchased this to reference an overhaul of a used Mercury 9.9 2-stroke. Helped me work through the Sierra 18-7212 Carburetor Kit to rebuild the carb.Expect the manual to be a tad dated because well these are old engines. With covering such a large number of years, you will have to read between the lines at times. Still though one of the best offline references for the shade tree mechanic to service these engines.

Had very useful information about the older style carburetor. On my 66 merc 110 now I just have to get it running.

This manual has very thorough information. When I found the articles I needed, the illustrations and instructions were very good. The only drawback to the book is poor indexing. I had to search hard to find specific information for the specific motor I was working on. If not for this, I would give it 5 stars.

This is invaluable if you try to work on an old motor. 4 stars because it is old black and white, that looks like it has never been updated. Also it covers a wide range of motors so you won't always get a good picture of what you are looking at. Fix one thing one time and it pays for itself.

Good pictures, item by item guide.If you're working on your own motorstart here.Save yourself some money, or at leastfamiliarize yourself with the life bloodof your boat. It will help you if you dogo to a shop. You will be able to relateand talk to the mechanics intelligently.If I get another boat, I'm buying a guide fromthese guys right away.
