The Playbook: Improv Games for Performers

While a good collection of games for improv performers, it lacks some context which seems important to actually put new games into use if you haven’t experienced them before.

Very helpful for actors and any corporate professionals looking to integrate new ideas into their presentations.

A fairly comprehensive list of improvisation games and (basically) how to play them. Many of the games have names different than you might be used to, but most everything you've heard of and many you haven't are included. I'd suggest using some of the games like any suggestion in improv and let them inspire you to modify & create new versions for yourself.

Though it is organized, I was having trouble following it at first.

Starting an improv group and this book reminded me of a lot of the sketches I had done before, but had forgotten. Many new ones, lots of opportunities. I ran through the sketches and immediately found 88 of them that sounded promising. Narrowed down my choices for our first meeting and it should work out well.

This book is a comprehensive guide to having fun. I can think of no "instructional manual" that is both so easy to use and so entertaining. Don't get me wrong, the book has been well thought out and edited, is greatly utilitarian yet still retains a sense of playfulness. If you work in the world of Improvisation or you just like to play the games, this book is for YOU!

This is my favorite go-to book for all of my educational programming that I teach through the theatre. It's AWESOME. A definite must have for anyone leading improv classes or groups.

An essential book for any improviser or improv teacher! William Hall is a great teacher and he's put together a great resource!

I have taught workshops for a while now so what I noticed right away was what a breath of fresh air the resources in this book brought to what I do. I also love the way it is organized so that you can search by concept or form rather than just alphabetical. It is a must for any teacher/ facilitator

If you already have a background in improvisation, this book will be genius for you.
