The Hedgehog: An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet (Happy Healthy Pet, 163) Paperback – April 1, 1997

This is the only hedgehog book I've ever read, so I don't have anything to compare it to. It's very thorough and complete though, with extensive knowledge and information on the most complex issue of hedgehog care--feeding. I kind of wish that it mentioned more about whether or not you need heat lamps/heat pads to keep them at 'normal' comfortable-for-humans room temperatures, such as at 65-70 degrees. It does say that 70 is about the lower range, but doesn't exactly state that this is THE lowest and that effective measures should be taken to prevent this from being any lower.Also worth noting is that the book is soft-cover with weirdo photo-copied-looking pages with poor-quality color photos. Whenever I've seen it for sale at my store, it's always hard-covered with the normal glossy-looking pages, so I'm not sure if this book is 'legit' in that respect, like it's a back-alley edition.Other than that little caveat, it's a good read.

This book is well written and gives good information about Hedgehogs. Before getting or caring for Hedgehogs this is a must read.

As a new owner of a hedgehog, I had a lot to learn. This guide has been very helpful to explain behaviors, grooming, and basic care of my little hog. The pictures are colorful, and overall it's a super easy read. I would recommend this book for any hedgehog owner, or anyone thinking about owning one.

A must read before you get a hedgehog as a pet. Filled with valuable information about breeds, care and general hedgehog information. Makes a great gift for hedgehog lovers.

this book was very educational when i was getting ready to buy my heggy from my boss. she recommend this book to me so i bought it and read it and i was very pleased with it. it gives you good tips on how to take care of your hedgehog and what kind of cage they will like. this is the book to read if you are thinking about getting a hedgehog. please ready first.

Good book good condition.

The book was an easy read and contained much information however, most of the information found in this book can be found on hedgehog community websites maintained with contributions by veterinarians, breeders, and life-long hedgehog owners. I read this book after spending time on a community website and didn't find that the book had anything new to tell me.
