Good quality and quantity for the price
Initial use review: hey everyone so I bought x3 of the aquaearth soil and x1 bag of the aquairon by Oliver knot for my 75g tank. With the way I set my tank in this is plenty that ended up giving me good depth around the tank. You see in the picture that there’s a solid 2-4 inch width gap of just decorative sand in front ask the way across, there for deceasing the amount I needed to set up my planted tank. The reason this says initial review is because I can’t comment on how well this soil substrate does for the plants is only been 48hrs since set up. This right now is purely on the quantity of what you get bang for buck. It’s a decent size bag for the price. I snagged the x3bags for $40 a piece great value for the price. Now with planting in it I must say I’ma little upset because it definitely doesn’t hold plants down at all. After filling with water I had a large amount of my dwarf sag pop up and jungle Val. I’ve previously used Fluval statrum and didn’t have this issue, but this was a more affordable bag for the amount you get compared to the Fluval so I went with this. Well that’s the review for now. I’ll give an update review 2-3 weeks from now to let you know how my plants are doing.UPDATE: (post one week) hey everyone that’s taking the time to read my review. So I know I said I’d write a review 2-3 weeks out, but I’m spat getting results! My tank is currently 8days post rescape using the Aquaearth and Aquairon and I apart see some of my plants making a come back and sprouting new growth so I’m very excited and pleased!!! I will say though thee ONLY CON of this substrate is that you definitely need a sand substrate to cap it with for it is absolutely terrible at holding plants down... I don’t have any fish in my tank that are known for up rooting and I’ve witnessed with my eyes almost every plant I buried in 3+inches of this substrate just casually float to the top. I must admit it was very frustrating but luckily I went out and bought some sand initially thinking the 3bags + 1 bag iron wouldn’t be enough for the layout I have and would have to cap sand with it to fill it in but there was more than enough. Unfortunately it’s not strong/heavy enough to keep plants down. But that’s the only con I see so far.Plant wise Rotala rofund and wallichi growing beautifully, my AR mini is sprouting new leaves, my jungle Val grew a flower (never heard of it doing so), dwarf sag is a healthy green, crypts are looking healthy again, swords are lush green. Only plant not bouncing back so far is my Monte Carlo but it was beat up pretty bad from the initial switch to dirted prior to buying this substrate so I’m hoping it catch soon. Over all I’m keeping this rating of a 4 star!!!! Definitely recommend it, will buy again for future tanks as long as the price stays where it’s at. Some reviews stated they bought it for more than I did with I probably wouldn’t of paid what they did for it. The $40 is a fair price!

It's Oliver Knott!
It's a steal for the amount you get. Does not get cloudy when filled with water, no need to rinse. Full of nutrients as indicated on the package and made in Japan. Endorsed by Oliver Knott so it probably is a good product.Update: From 5 stars to 3 stars due to the massive price increase. You can buy the same if not better at a lower price.

Looks great
Just received the soil yesterday so I can’t rate it’s effectiveness yet but it is a big bag and it’s looks amazing in the aquarium. I’ll update my review in a few months2 week update, great substrate but $55? That price seems extremely expensive
