A little Inaccurate.
The pills I cut are small… about 3/8” in diameter. No matter how well I center them they always split unevenly. One side ends up smaller than the other. Sometimes they also crumble into several uneven pieces too. Maybe larger pills work better with this gadget, but it doesn’t work like I was hoping it would.

Best we've found
This is the best pill-splitter we've found. The price is good and it works well.

Paid more so I could have 2
I use pill splitters all the time,so I saw a package of 2 and thought it would be handy to have an extra one. So I bought 2. What I received was 1. So I paid for 2 and got 1. Not real happy with my purchase.

Absolutely Great!
I bought two of these because I have a lot of pills to split and some I keep upstairs and some downstairs. I have used both to cut hundreds of pills with no problem. Unlike a lot of pill splitters, this actually has a blade that ensures sharp, mostly clean cuts. I read all the reviews on dozens of pills splitters and all of them had detractors while others swore by them. Thus, there was no clear direction on which one to buy. Finally, looking at the number of positives and the actual comments, I decided to try this one. I'm so glad I did. It has functioned beautifully and shows no sign of breaking or wearing out. At first, it bothered me that the "tray" portion on which you place the pill (its V shaped) was of a silicone rubber material that didn't allow smooth sliding of the pill into place. I think that was intentional in order to keep the pill from moving when you cut it, but it made it a little difficult for someone like me with big hands and fingers and not particularly good motor skills to maneuver it into place. I needn't have been concerned because after you've cut a few pills, a slight film of "pill dust" accumulated on the little mat and it slides right into place at the cutting end of the V. Like all pill cutters though, getting oval or odd shaped pills into the exact place you want them is a little difficult. I've never seen one any better though. It doesn't really matter though, because if it is placed all the way into the apex of the V, you're still going to get 50% of the pill in each half. It's simple geometry when you think about it. I think this is well worth the price and does the job I need with no problems whatsoever. The little reservoir collects quite a few pill halves before you need to empty it and it's easy to do into your hand, so you can then pour them back into the bottle.

BEST PILLCUTTER I HAVE USED. READ REVIEW TO SEE WHY.
This is the best cutter I have tried and used; and trust me when I tell you that it has been many. I had one similar to this one but it finally broke. The mechanism for cutting the pill was exactly the same as this one with minor differences. Now when the old one broke I thought that surely in themany years I had used the same type, that surely somebody had come up with something easier than lining up the pill and hope you have it lined up correctly so it will cut exactly on the score. First of all you cannot cut a pill unless it is scored. I am an RNZ so you can believe that it is a fact. So I first bought the $29 one made of metal. However it is impossible to use on any shape of pill that is round. See in order to use it you have to stand the pill on its edge in order to line it up for cutting on the score. Then I tried one that had a little tray inside with a definite seperation of this tray and therefore making it easier to line up. Perfect right? Wrong. Every time I used it, it would crush, and splinter the pill. I tried everything to get it to work but no go. Okay now the differences between this one and the old one. The old one did not have a clear view when closed on the pill so you cansee if it’s lined up. The old ones tray came to more of a point than this one does. So a small round pill fits on the tray better. The old one I had to close it gently then pound it down to split the pill without shattering it. This one, you can just close it gently then tap on it and, Voila. The onle drawback on this one is the line down the middle to demark the center is not clearly seen. You have to eyeball it and that is nor accurate. However the advantages outweigh the dis ones. So there you go.

A great little tool for splitting pills
If you have ever tried to manually split pills, you know how easy it is to slice your finger. Here is a tool that makes it easy even for seniors to perform that task safely and precisely. You just place the pill in the non-slip, V-shaped, anvil and close the cover. As the cover closes a guard automatically retracts from around a razor blade mounted in the cover. The blade then slices the pill neatly in half. When you re-open the cover you can move the halves to the small reservoir at the front of device and repeat the process, quickly halving many pills before dumping them back into the bottle; or, you can stop after just one pill if you wish to use the device "on demand."The one complaint that I have with these devices is that they are hard to keep clean, so I try to only cut one kind of pill with a particular one so as not to cross-contaminate different medicines. Some very "chalky" pills tend to crumble when you split them. Removing that powdery residue from the tool is difficult. If you use water to wash the device, be sure to dry it well so that the razor blade doesn't rust. I recommend a hair dryer since temporarily removing the shield around the razor blade can be tricky. But, that isn't necessary if you have a separate device for each type of pill that you have to split. Thus, the manufacturer's choice to package this in a "2 pack" is pretty much ideal.
