Cadex V8-8 Alarm Reminder Watch with Vibrating/Beep Notifications - Dark Blue Band

I purchased this watch with a healthy dose of skepticism. I wanted easy setup and easy use with some key functions and I got it. My main concern was that I needed to set at least 5 alarms per day and sometimes 7. That was met in that each alarm is numbered and so you know exactly which one you are working with eliminating any confusion. The back light works very well and I need it. The large display is easily read with 4 function keys which are labeled. Labeling the keys makes it easy to use as once I had gone through it twice I didn't need to refer back to the instructions to do whatever I needed. This is so important to me. I wanted an alarm that was easy to understand based on what you see and this one is all that. I first tested the dual vibrate and sound mode. Vibrate is good. I believe the alarm is rather soft. It should last longer to really get your attention. Therefore my one suggestion is to always leave it in the dual mode. Also I think this design is rather stylish and doesn't look like a heart rate monitor or some other sports related watch. Also the watch came right away and was already set to my time zone although it's super easy to set the time and date yourself in case you travel.

I had this sent to my dad in another state. He's 80 years old and had trouble programming it. He thinks clearly, but it still took several days to get it on the right schedule because he had to wait to see if it would or wouldn't work at the desired hours and then try again. Now it seems to be working fine--at least until the doctor changes his medication routine.

This watch has been very helpful as a tool for making sure I take my medicines at the right time. However, the body of the watch broke the other day as I was removing it from my arm. The plastic cracked and broke off right where the pin attaches the watch band to the body of the watch. Since I've only had the watch about 5 and a half months I thought the warranty would cover it. So I called Cadex, the manufacturer, and they told me the warranty doesn't cover problems with the body of the watch. That I would have to pay $45 to have them fix it. Since I only paid about $69 for the watch I don't think it's worth it. It's going to the landfill.

The watch arrived prompt, but the battery was dead. Fortunately, I had a few extra CR 2032 batteries. Take the advice offered in the instructions manual and have a professional install the battery. It's a chore! The alarm doesn't work, but I really didn't plan on using the alarm anyway. It keeps good time, but I would not recommend it to a friend.

Some may find this watch a bit larger and heavier than they expected but it's a good size for us. It seems very sturdy and the band is a heavy Polyurethane (?). The set-up is very straight forward for anyone with any familiarity with digital watches and the vibration feature is just right - unignorable but comfortable. Eight alarms are sufficient for us. We wish it had a 'year-month-day' date option but other than that have no qualms for our first month of ownership. A robust, easy to use med-alarm watch that seems well worth the price...

As my husband takes meds seven times a day this really works to keep him on schedule. Many watches have no where near enough alarms. Plus the vibration and alarm are just loud enough to get his attention but certainly not going to disturb anyone at a restaurant or other public gathering which is important. He also likes that the watch face is not too heavy. This gets an A+ in our book.

Too difficult for old me to set, but now that it is, it’s good and doing its required job perfectly.
