(10 Pack) Three-Piece Airlock and Drilled #6 Stopper Fermentation Beer Making Wine Making Kombucha Fits Gallon Jugs

So I recently started making wine. That makes me a hobbyist, not an alcoholic, right? I had ordered some 2 piece airlocks that came with a larger size bung (cork, essentially). Unfortunately those did not fit my 1 gallon "antique" apple cider vinegar jugs I'm using. So I ordered these with a smaller bung, hoping they would work - and they do!However, fun fact, the 2 piece airlock itself (without the bung) is interchangeable with these bungs on the 3 piece airlock. So I used some of each, all with the smaller bungs. These bungs are a very good firm rubber (perhaps a different material, I don't know). They fit into my 1 gallon jugs phenomenally. I found the 3 piece airlock easier to work with than the 2 piece, and they are also a sturdier plastic. I'm honestly scared of snapping the plastic on my 2 piece airlocks - one actually arrived broken. These 3 piece airlocks don't have that problem though.Overall, I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Exactly what I needed

I bought some other airlocks that were cheaper, and smaller but they were awful so I looked around and found these. I was a bit hesitant due to the reviews from others indicating there's problems with the airlocks being cracked, and the stoppers being of poor design/material. I don't see any problem with the materials, or quality but I have reservations about how they're stored. The stoppers were just jammed into the top of the box (not a problem), and each of the airlocks was individually wrapped with bubble wrap which I thought was a good sign. Then I pulled them out, and examined them... Each and every one of the airlocks had a bunch of scuff marks on them from... I don't know. I honestly have no idea what could cause that level of scuffing. Two of them have cracks in them (20% of the order) so obviously they're not handled really super well at SOME point in the supply chain. The stoppers are all about what I'd expect, and comparable in size, shape, and quality to those I've purchased elsewhere.Pros:- Relatively inexpensive, unless a LOT of them are broken.- Seem sturdy enough. The plastic feels thick and moderately tough, but we'll find out when I've used them a few times. I'll update this review if they turn out to not be so great.- Decent size. I'm confident these will do their job without issue. I've had great luck so far with other airlocks of the same size/style so I'm confident these will work well.Cons:- High probability of getting at least one with cracks in it, according to the other reviews (and confirmed by me).Other thoughts:- The stoppers can often have trouble staying in because they're slick (this is not specific to these, but in general), and the easy solution is to wrap a rubber band around the handle and the stopper with the airlock between the two. It'll keep enough pressure to keep the thing from popping out. It'd be NICE if you didn't have to do that, but apparently we don't live in that world. It's not a difficult or expensive fix.- They really should figure out what is going on that's causing so many of these to be damaged. Definitely buy extras, because given what I've seen with mine: They don't know how to be gentle with these things.

I had 1 out of 10 that came in with a crack in it. I wasn’t to worry about replacing it. It’s nice to have a few on hand. You can’t have to many airlocks!

Works as advertised would buy again

Simple, no nonsense airlocks. Nuff said.

I like the bubblers! They work great! Bubbling away as we speak!!!
