They do a good job of keeping most of the seeds and moss and junk out of my sprinklers and lawn. You do have to be VERY careful installing them as they strip very easily which is a real pain. Also if you have unfiltered irrigation like we do you need to clean them out frequently. Otherwise great inline filter. I recommend.

The filter is great like many other of its kind, I bought this particular one because it comesWith a female attachement, but it turns out the threading on the attachement is weak and it would get damaged very easily and had to be replaced with a brass one that I bought separately. This makes my improvised water system really work great. I use a rain barrel with a sump pump to run my misting wand, and without a filter the misting nozzles would certainly clog. The flow is great, it's easy to clean. Do note that the thread pattern is pipe thread where most users are going to be using this with hose thread fittings so you'll need an adapter on both ends.

This filter is 3/4" male pipe thread on both ends. It also comes with a 3/4" swivel coupling so that you can remove the entire unit without cutting any pipes. It works great if you connect the filter to a pressure regulator, then you can drop the coupling under the pressure regulator. If you put the pressure regulator below the filter, the filter will prevent the pressure regulator from getting clogged. That's the setup I had before this too. It was there for like 15 years without issue but I figured it was about time to replace it since I had to take everything off to add the shutoff value anyway.The filter unit also includes O rings for the filter removal container, and the filter drain plug, but just to be safe I added plumber's tape to both connections. I've never had a leak with these filters (I have more in the front yard). One time I did a coupling snap in half, it was an easy replacement since these couplings rotate in both directions.

I have another like this, it is what I was looking for. 3 stars cause you cannot connect it directly to an outside faucet nor the output directly to a hose. It is truly meant to be inline in a drip system. The adapter that comes with it is to connect to a drip line system only. I use it with a drip system but have a regular garden hose to get there from the faucet. So a visit to Lowes etc to get the correct adapters with the correct threads on them. Caution, the threads on this and its adapter are NOT pipe threat size such as a hose or outside faucet.

The dual swivel 3/4 plastic nuts will break very easy...

This Y filter is great, I give 4 stars because it is difficult to find replacement filters. Actually, I have yet to find some. I needed a filter with larger spacing. So I cut out the fabric screen and replaced it with some metal window screen rolled up and placed on the inner frame of the filter. Works great. I don't care about small debris, it's the large stuff I don't want hitting my pump. Otherwise it clogs up too soon (half a day) and then do to the pressure it tears the fabric screen.

I bought two of these to us on both my drip systems, like the purge feature and they fit on top of my timer just right. Well made, does not leak, well worth the money. I added these because the city was putting in a new water line and of course there will be grit, we had no problem with the drip systems but did take a while to get clear water from the faucets in the house.
