Ignore the I’ll explained negative...
I’m writing this because most of the reviews of this product are inaccurate. This adapter does work with a external hard drives, provided that hard drive has its own power supply. And I didn’t see that very important detail elaborated on. This device is taking two ports and turning themInto four.I have a 6TB hardrive that has its own power supply and I have experienced zero loss of speed or communication from the hard drive. I’ve also had a Bluetooth head set and was playing with my controles plugged in for faster Response time.My opinion...again just trying to provide the best feedback. I recently bought this and have had no trouble with my external hard drive plugged into the blue port and no problem with my mics or charging. My opinion is that charging a PS4 controller is ok with everything I described. But if your looking to connect a mouse, a keyboard, or a hard drive that pulls power from the USB then yes this will be a problematic device for you...but let just say giving it one star because it doesn't do what you hoped it would isn’t fair and I felt during my looking into this attachment the information in the reviews was highly inappropriate and in accurate...

does not work the best
on the far left you have a blue usb port which i use for my storage device but if you also have a usb mic like i have the quad cast it will play a loud buzzing noise on every other usb port, the storage device does not work unless it’s on the blue port and a mic doesn’t work well unless it’s there too.

May not be compatible with all USB Extrernal Storage Devices, But still a reliable product.
This is great for being able to use multiple usb devices, though my only issue with it was that I was unable to use my external storage hardware, as it required a direct connection to the PS4 console. Other than that this product worked great for me; as a matter of fact, I also use a PS4 Slim Vertical Stand, and it fits perfectly though I would recomment connecting the 4 Usb Port Hub prior to mounting your PS4 Slim onto your stance, unless it's a horizontal one.Overall, great product and I would highly recommend it.

It works. Not for me.
So it works. That said is periodically (nightly) disconnects the external storage and then you have to repair the drive. Every day. It’s pretty frustrating. If you always turn off the PS4 then there will be no issue. If you leave it “sleeping” it’ll disconnect sometime in its sleep. It does work, just not in a way that I can continue to use it. It’s a shame.

Relieved
this is really cool helps with alot of things. Also the far right port to let you all know is the like the main port. So if you have something like a 2tb external storage thing plug it in the far right one. The storage did not want to format until I had put it on the far right port. I think that port is blue so it basically lets you know.

External USB 3.1 drives do not work correctly!
The product arrived quickly, installed easily and looks like it was a designed option for the PS4 Slim, and while all of the ports did work, they did not all work correctly. Basically this installs using the PS4 Slim's front USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports and adds one USB 3.1 passthrough, and 3 USB 2.0 ports. And while the USB 2.0 ports seemed to work correctly I had real problems with the external drive connected via the USB 3.1 passthrough port. Problems seemed to start right off the bat. I powered down the PS4 from the OS to start the installation and turned the unit off after the lights shut off from the power down command. Installed the USB HUB and then rebooted. At boot the PS4-OS informed my that my external drive was not shut down correctly( It was shut down correctly, as I mentioned above, this is a PS4 coding problem) anyway I repaired the drive and it did come on-line for a couple of minutes before dropping off-line again. I repaired it a second time and in the middle of loading one of the games installed on that drive, same problem. At this point the PS4-OS informed me that the damage could not be repaired and that my only option was a reformat and rebuild. By that time I had enough and decided to remove the hub and go back to the original configuration. When I did, the PS4-OS asked to repair the drive one last time and it has been working minus this hub ever since. I suspect there some sort of power related issue in the hub itself which caused connected USB drives to drop out but did not confirm, nor did I bother calling the company as the problem seemed straight forward to me and as much as I liked the overall design and look of the hub it is not simply worth the hassle and potential data loss while trying to figure out why it was causing the drive to drop off line. If you have PS4Slim and a similar configuration( Seagate 4tb external USB 3.0 drive, ps4 certified) I'd recommend looking for other options as I will be returning this. Thought about replacing it, but can't quite talk myself into it after the data scare.
