Swanson Triple Magnesium Complex 400 Milligrams 60 Chwbls

It takes a while to get used to the taste/texture, but after using them for a while you get so they are pleasant. If you chew them immediately it is kind of a shock to your mouth. But if you suck on them a little and let them dissolve in your mouth and get used to them before chewing they are better. The taste is not unpleasant really, sort of mild citrus. They are big, but you don't have to swallow them. I by far prefer taking these to having to swallow the big magnesium tablets. I have to take them twice a day due to magnesium deficiency. If you have trouble swallowing tablets, try these. Also the price has gone down a lot since I first started buying them. I have been taking them about 6 months. -Debbie

If you truly need a magnesium supplement, then Swanson's Triple Magnesium Complex 400 mg is a good choice. The tablets are chewable, making them easier to take; and the taste isn't bad - a bit chalky as you might expect - but not unpleasant. I emphasize that you should be very certain that you need this much magnesium before taking it; otherwise, you may end up needing to stay very close to home for the next day or two. Of course, we should always be sure that any supplements we take are truly necessary. It's just become so commonplace now for us to take them without first checking with our doctors (OUR doctors - not that one on TV ;-) to see if the supplements are necessary.

I like chewable supplements when i can find them and these are the only chewable magnesium pills that i know of (there is also magnesium powder for drinking). The quality of my last batch is a little weird though. Some are so square they are almost round, and those are soft and tasty. Then there are some mixed in that are much flatter and these are hard and not very tasty. What happened? Anyway i still prefer these to swallowing some horse pill.

These are great because they are chewable and have a lot of magnesium, but they must have reformulated them since the last time I bought them because they taste totally different now and that taste is almost unbearable. So bad. When I bought them in November 2014, they had the same sweeteners but for some reason they tasted completely different. It's a shame because I don't know if I'll buy them again because of the taste.

I really wanted to like this product -- I usually take Doctor's Best Chelated Magnesium, which while excellent, are huge and difficult to swallow. Additionally, I was hoping these would also be a good alternative for my son to take, too. First, the magnesium is oxide, carbonate and citrate. The oxide is cheap and basically not very absorbable -- and causes a laxative effect. The carbonate is good if you have digestive upsets (ala Tums) but not really great as an absorbable supplement. The citrate is okay -- but again, can have a laxative effect. So, that's my fault -- I should have checked more carefully that it contained better sources of Mg (which are glycinate, taurate or malate) --But, the cincher for my review is the absolutely HORRID taste of these. Trust me when I say I am not particular -- I take multiple kinds of chewable supplements -- some better tasting than others -- and this is by far the worst tasting by far. There is nothing pleasant about chewing these and it indeed feels like a punishment.

Must have been reformulated. Not as powdery now, but they taste awful! And are a bit hard to chew. I liked the previous version much better. Its a convenient way to get extra magnesium for those of us who can't swallow pills.

I returned the product because my children didn't like them, the return took a long time and I had to inquire after a month passed. Once I did inquire, the return went through soon after that.

These work great for my son's constipation. They are a bit chalky, and I cut them in half to make them more palatable -- but otherwise, this is a great product!
